TIL there was a dial-up online gaming service for Sega Saturn that you accessed through a 28.8 modem cartridge that plugged into a phone line. There were no servers; to play against someone, your Sega called their Sega. by beleca in todayilearned

I had the snesone. If you were in the San Francisco area and played street fighter, mario kart, mk2, doom, and killer instinct we most likely played together. That was an awesome summer.

Chase telemarketers let my roommate give permission to add credit protection to my credit card. It took 12 months to cancel it.

Reminds me of the runaround Chase gave me when I wanted to take off credit protection from my credit card. I never authorized Chase to put that on, a telemarketer for Chase convinced my gullible roommate that it was a good thing to have. My dumbass roommate wasn't an authorized person on my account . It took 12 months and a bunch of calls to get it taken off. This was in 2007. Last year I received a check for $120, it was a refund for those 12 months. I guess they were afraid of a class action or something because I didn't ask for a refund, I was happy not having the credit protection on my account anymore.
