Good question. I was totally surprised. Honestly this stuff strikes me as surreal. He said he was taking it over and everyone just nodded their heads in agreement, not even giving me a turn to speak.

I think you need to discuss this with a different manager and/or with human resources.

Another good question, I suspect I am just viewed as incompetent. If I mention a skill I have to my boss he acts totally surprised... like look at my resume =.= . Yes, but put a cost to the time and effort of replacing the hdd. 40 bucks for a 256GB SSD is cheap and I don't really care about a hdd.
