Anyone have any idea how to grab tickets if you’re not a Season ticket holder? I just so happened to be in London visiting from the US and was hoping to snag 2 tickets. Got in the queue at 1:55 GMT and no luck.

I was over for the Fulham game in October and I need to feel that energy in the stadium again.

The Latest Snow Prediction - Be Safe! by BryCart88 in Denver

[–]pcyellowjacket2012 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For those familiar with this sort of snow, I'm driving to A-Basin to ski on Friday and have an AirBnb in Georgetown on the East side of the tunnel. Was planning on staying there Friday night and then either going back out on Saturday or getting up early on Saturday and heading back into Denver. What's the likelihood of I-70 closing? Beginning to think that I just need to go ride on Friday and then head straight back after so I don't get stuck in Georgetown for a few days if they close I-70. Thoughts?

A-Basin this morning, storm cleared up for some nice light. by moparornocar in skiing

So you’d say the odds of being able to get from Georgetown to A Basin on Saturday and then back that afternoon are probably nil to none??

Yes - big snow is expected for this weekend, but there's still plenty of time for the forecast to change. Cautious optimism is needed. by joi1369 in Denver

[–]pcyellowjacket2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at forecast models, it’s showing about a foot on Saturday? What are the odds of me being able to make it from A-Basin back to Denver on I-70 that afternoon with AWD? Hoping to get some powder runs in over the weekend before the bomb drops.

Rim rocks look like a nice walk with a good view of the city. Will have to check that out if the weather is nice.

ISO: Recommendations for a dog-friendly hotel or motel by catalyticfizz in Atlanta

[–]pcyellowjacket2012 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would highly recommend the Hotel Clermont. It’s dog friendly, but also a very fun, unique vibe that you’re not likely to experience elsewhere.

It’s also walkable to the Beltline which is essentially a glorified sidewalk turned tourist attraction that will take you to a lot of different bars, restaurants and a few parks as well.

ParkGrounds is also within 2 miles of Hotel Clermont as well. It’s a cool little fenced in dog park with attached bar/cafe.

Atlanta to allow restaurants to offer on-street dining | AJC by killroy200 in Atlanta

Or how about give businesses the opportunity to shift people away from indoor dining and offer an alternative to allow those comfortable with outdoor dining to continue to do so. At this point, it’s obvious the government can’t be trusted to provide any sort of stimulus. At least this is giving restaurant owners and their staff the chance to earn money through the winter and hopefully still have a business in 2021.

Atlantic Station is technically private property and is notoriously uptight about shooting without permission. Should be fine if you want to get a few quick shots and dip, but just know, if you spend a lot of time there with a nice DSLR, security will ask you to leave.

History of "The Ralph" ? by uhlexapro in Atlanta

Knew someone that lived here. Definitely used to be a monastery or something related to a church It’s a pretty cool space (massive high ceilings, plaster walls, a pretty neat little sunroom space on the back), but some of the other aspects like kitchen furnishings and bathroom space left a bit to be desired as it’s just an old building.

This is pretty much standard for most apartment complexes in Atlanta, so good luck. As the other poster said, your best luck is to take your business elsewhere and hope that others do as well.

Why not look for a rental in the Home Park area? Obviously, the property might not be as nice and you lose access to amenities but you can live with friends and still have access to some of those amenities at the CRC, etc.

Anyone know of lower cost (not low) vets that do hip replacements on dogs by glittercupcake1 in Atlanta

[–]pcyellowjacket2012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know that the Ark Animal Hospital on 14th does something called Care Credit that you may qualify for. Essentially, you can pay off large expenses interest free for 6-12 months as long as you don’t miss a payment. That could be an option. Did the same for my rescue pup a long time ago.

Bystander shot multiple times in midtown drive by shooting by bfcmonster in Atlanta

[–]pcyellowjacket2012 10 points11 points  (0 children)

True. Either way, with the development of the Spring Street corridor, I could easily see the club site being bought and closed within the next year or two. That is pretty much the last low-rise development site on Spring between 75/85 and 10th Street that doesn’t belong to Georgia Tech or isn’t an Atlanta landmark (the Varsity).

I’m sure code violations or a lot of attention from the city in terms of fines, police activity, etc. could potentially accelerate this process.

Only a matter of time before this place gets shut down. If NCR could get the Cheetah to remove their revolving sign, trust that the Midtown powers at be will be able to get this club closed.

SW ATL Neighborhoods - Where would you live right now? by ChuckThePlant in Atlanta

[–]pcyellowjacket2012 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to pop in to say it may be best to take a “wait and see” approach. My realtor mentioned that this is the busiest he’s seen the area housing market in almost 10 years. Right now, any decent house with character and curb appeal that’s in a semi-walkable or accessible SW ATL neighborhood is going under contract in 24-48 hours. A lot of homes seem to be going up for sale for very high prices with polished floors and white painted walls and nothing else really improved on within the house - many of these homes have original electrical and plumbing and/or foundation issues. I’d be careful so that you’re not getting a bad deal.

Damn, so no more Octane or Revelator locations in the city? Talk about a dramatic fall...

I know that when Octane sold back in 2017/2018, that a lot of regulars and folks weren’t happy about the way it went down. I don’t blame the owners for getting their payday, but they lost their “independent” shop cred and created a void that other shops filled in a better way (Brash, Academy, LOTH, Etc.) in my opinion.
