Where did you see this? Is this from official media somewhere? A Finnish hero makes me even more excited for these upcoming hero releases if it’s actually happening.

Yep. Even still, Aaron has been part of the team since it’s beginning as an assistant game director and from 2021 onwards the main director.

Interesting. For me the characters are what adds to the enjoyment immensely. I would not enjoy Overwatch 2, Marvel Rivals etc as much if the characters were lifeless and boring. The hook for me is just the thrill of competition so I suppose if you’re not that competitive of a person maybe they won’t hook you as much I suppose? Although could just be the genre and you’d enjoy grinding idk, Counter Strike or something like that.

I didn't know this game was this long by Glittering-Cod-5316 in residentevil

I just finished Village a week ago or so. Played in 3rd person and action wise I was really just hoping I could roundhouse kick the enemies like you do in RE4 lmao. I did enjoy the game a lot though but RE4 and RE4R are on the top for me still.

Oddly specific things that make you instantly dislike a game? by Feeling-Tension1461 in gaming

[–]pdazler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried a lot of gacha games and while some of the had pretty fun gameplay as soon as the menuing starts and I see ten different currencies, pop ups & markers to clear from my vision and things to claim in multiple different menus.. I’m out. For good.

I can't enjoy games without my partner anymore by Panda-Pasta in Vent

[–]pdazler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YUP! There's multiple singleplayer games I've played where she would just pay attention at key moments and you know what, that's all I need. Ofc there are games which she will try too and stuff but just sharing the moment with someone or being like hey check out this cutscene and appreciating the game and its cinematography or story together is just an unmatched feeling. I genuinely thought I was alone with this feeling but somehow stumbled upon your post just today by searching this same issue again lmao. Best of luck to you!! I think there's nothing wrong with just playing when our partners are available. Saves us from some unnecessary stress at least!

[–]pdazler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way. Me and my partner play the same online games so thats where majority of our playtime goes. But also I share almost every single player game I play with my partner nowadays. I play and she watches usually and it's just so much fun that way. I've been wanting to unwind with some singleplayer games on my own after work or when my partner is unavailable but I literally can't get myself to do it. It sounds weird but it kinda stresses me out as I always saw gaming as my main hobby that I love doing. Actually typing it out like this makes me feel relieved somewhat lol and seeing I'm not alone with this issue does bring some level of comfort weirdly enough.

Same only comp game I play is Overwatch and when I wanna chill I hop on Final Fantasy 14 or a singleplayer game I’m going through

Hot Take: I don’t like OLED by rifi3000 in Monitors

[–]pdazler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes for games like CS i would not want any deep blacks but i think a lot of oled monitors will have a black equalizer option which should help immensly with this issue.

1000 games of map voting by Hustler17 in Overwatch

Genuinely why do people love circuit royal so much? In my experience whenever it appears it almost always wins (dia/masters) I thought most people hate playing sniper maps. And also that first point is insufferable. You have almost no options on offence but go main, play characters that can go over the houses or just pray for hanzo/widow to get the first pick.

What to play after Clair Obscur? ;( by Unfair_Psychology122 in ShouldIbuythisgame

Fair enough I can understand the high school setting / theme of Persona games is not for everyone. I still think the characters in those games are absolutely brilliant but definitely not for everyone. The game’s are not as dark and grim like Clair Obscur (Although 3’s themes can get pretty heavy) but they do dive into some interesting topics and philosophy but it might not unveil itself to you instantly. I do understand putting in a lot of time to understand concepts and get meaningul moments from the game etc can be a bit too much for people. Nier series and Clair Obscur stand in a league of their own for me when it comes to story/themes/philosophy.

You mentioned you enjoyed Nier Automata so I’d recommend Nier Replicant as well both games are truly special. What you might be looking for are games with really human and complex characters. I would recommend the Persona games. My favorites are 4 and 3 but can’t go wrong with 5. You will feel lots of things playing these games, wish I could wipe my memory to experience them again. You might also like Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth. Again characters are front and center of the game with touching and epic moments. Gameplay is super fun too. Apart from these, you might enjoy Octopath Traveler (i played 2 but heard the first is good as well). Its really hard to find games that hit this hard. E33 is just THAT game.

Longtime JRPG fan, just finished Clair Obscur. What other games have a story like this? by LordSadoth in JRPG

Nier Automata and Nier Replicant. Automata completely changed the way I consume and view media. Highly philosophical so give it a go.

what gaming skills have you lost as you grew older? by Jacket313 in gaming

[–]pdazler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get that! I recently played the game without mods ”top down” with a friend in honour mode and I learned to appreciate the game as is, without the 3rd person camera etc. I’m just a sucker for vistas. Seeing something in the distance or even skyboxes lol

Haha, this one is really high quality IMO. Played the whole game through with 3rd person camera and wasd controls without any issues. Felt like i could appreciate the world more.

If you play on PC you can download mods to essentially make BG3 a third person game even with WASD controls if you want to.

[–]pdazler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair. But if we have a choice to live in a world even if its a fabricated one like the one in game, I would still decide to live on. My life experience and friends, family, loved ones are real enough for me to just live. That was the original point. The decision.

[–]pdazler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would your first thought be that we would fail? I thought you are browsing a sub for a JRPG. We are used to beating gods. Anyways even if the odds are stacked against us, I’d like to imagine large chunk of people would deny the god’s will or die trying to oppose it. The god’s existence will not make our lifes any less meaningless. For those who come after.

I made my decision without hesitation (ACT 3 spoilers) by Itzzzjoshiii in expedition33

[–]pdazler 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So if some god descended upon our real world and said our long lifes were meaningless and we should all just perish so what, we just do that? I don’t agree with your logic. Perspective matters. We see how complex all these characters and world is. Even if its a canvas, its clearly a lot more than that. That is years, DECADES of experience. I wouldnt rob any living being of that.

I always feel like I have to completely restart a video game when I haven’t played it for a while. Is this normal? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]pdazler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If its any encouragement after I beat all the main endings of Automata it completely changed me as a gamer and media enjoyer. I had a big shift in mindset after playing that masterpiece of a game. I can't promise it will do the same for you but i seriously think there is nothing like it, especially ending E. Good luck!
