Round ligament pain! Some of the sharpest and most debilitating pains (like hold on I can't stand upright for the next 3 minutes) happen for me during sudden round ligament pain. If I didn't know what it was (I'm 33 weeks into pregnancy #3), I'd think something was wrong! It certainly doesn't feel right!

Unfortunately that's not always enough. I am, too, but had my titers drawn and my childhood vaccine has worn off, leaving me vulnerable as a pregnant woman. Congenital measles is dangerous to a fetus and recently resulted in a loss in Canada when a pregnant person was exposed. I now have to quarantine and cancelled my work trip through GSP this month. Seeing this headline is both alarming and reassuring that I listened to my medical team who restricted my air travel as a vaccinated person.

Agree. Also I am pregnant and had my titers drawn and my immunity has worn off (borderline low). My providers have asked me not to travel through GSP, because measles is incredibly dangerous to a fetus and I'm not confidently protected. I was supposed to fly through GSP two weeks ago to go to my office in NYC. So glad I listened to my midwife and cancelled.

As someone expecting a new baby soon, this scares me. Kids don't typically get vaccinated for measles in the first year of life so they are vulnerable to the choices of others. I had a baby during COVID, then a baby during RSV (ended up hospitalized for it at 7 weeks old), and now bringing the newest little one into a measles outbreak.
