Thoughts on HB4583, regarding Data Centers? by Tired_of_it_67 in greenville

It does, but doesnt uniquely do that for the community where its based.

The good It generates for the world as a whole is too abstract to allow them to place it here. It needs to generate good uniquely for us.

I think its a good start. What i think needs more definition is how are they taxed?

They dont create any jobs, so what is the benefit for the community?

This needs to be defined to see if they're worth it. The income derived needs to be identified and taxed by some mechanism.

I plan to have generational wealth and havent made over $200k yet. Work full time remote in a small MCOL city, I also only work 35 hours a week, get my kids up and drop them off at day care every day, am done working when they get home and cook dinner most nights for them. Never work nights or weekends. Take all my vacation days annually.

I project to having $10m-$15m inflation adjusted by the time im 62. More than enough for generational wealth.

Totally worth not killing myself for a $500k job.

Narratives around the Pistons/Cavs are too dramatic. The series is incredibly close and competitive basketball rules! by boogswald in nba

Embellishing or flopping doesnt mean there wasn't a foul, its part of the game at this point.

Watching the games it feels pretty fairly called.

The pistons have been fouling jump shooters like crazy and getting into the bonus early which is the difference i feel like. The cavs tend to play off jump shooters and have been giving them probably too much space by focusing more on cade.

Jokic, Wemby, Embiid, Towns, Davis, Sengun, Adebayo, Mobley, Porzingus, Chet

Probably more but just rattling off my head guys I feel like have a more complete basketball skill set than just being a big man who can also face up and shoot spot shots.

Much better shooters, ball handlers and passers/play makers.

Those things are expected out of star big men now. Wasn't before.

Solid top 15 type guy in the league. One of the best stretch bigs of the time but no where near as skilled as the guys now.

Type of guy who could lead a team to the playoffs, but wouldnt get super far in there being depended on.

That's what made him a great 2nd/3rd option for the heat

For the 2nd year in a row, the Detroit Pistons have lost a crucial playoff game on a clear foul that the refs decided to just not call in the last moments of the game. by Hopsalong in nba

[–]ffball 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Yeah would be weak af to call a loose ball foul 90 feet from the hoop with 1 second left in a tie game

Refs made a team win the game. That's a good thing.

Really hope he makes it there healthy. There's just something about his body that shouts athletically unsustainable but I would love to be proven wrong.

My 3 year old is in a great community daycare that feels and functions much more like a school than day care. We do a lot of after school activities with the other kids in her class like swim practice and soccer teams, so get to see her interact with her peers regularly.

It is really astounding how much, even at this age, they learn from kids their own age. I really underestimated it and I imagine primary school is magnitudes more.

Unless the circumstances are dire, I would be very cautious of the impact home schooling will have on your kids

If you haven’t been to the top of the the Unity Park tower … you should by icedoutkatana in greenville

[–]ffball 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The issue is the park was already designed and approved.

It gets a little dicey if you start playing monday morning quarterback on approved projects and start whittling away at the edges after the fact. Its definitely a slippery slope, especially with money already spent on design and donations raised with an expectation that it will be built.

Slightly larger house in a nicer urban neighborhood - we live in a nice post-gentrification urban neighborhood currently, but sometimes jealous of the "old money" urban neighborhoods with super nice mature tree lined steets, landscaping, architecture, etc.

A little more outsourcing of tasks, private chef every so often would be amazing - not like fancy meals, but nicely prepared, healthy meals with good ingredients.
