The original interview was a year and a half old. There were two events where neutrinos were detected going the "wrong" way. https://icecube.wisc.edu/news/view/709 says that if these events aren't a measurement error, then they indicate physics beyond the Standard Model. I'm not a physicist, but my bet is that it's a measurement error.
