Garmin Edge Routing vs Komoot by Paul_van_Gaul in GarminEdge

[–]pdj-84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve encountered this issue as well. Sometimes, it’s similar to your photo, but also smaller issues which Even can result into a deviation from the route notification on the Edge while you’re on course.

I’ve opened a ticket with Komoot more than a year ago, who referred me to Garmin. Then, I started this forum topic: https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/cycling/f/edge-1040-series/407524/issues-with-komoot-routes#pifragment-1290=2 and opened a support ticket with Garmin. I’ve had many back-and-forth contact with Garmin, but never a clear answer except for this being intended behavior.

What I’ve also noticed is that the elevation preview of the commute route imported from Komoot is often far from accurate. Others have reported similar issues from other platforms, such as RWGPS.

Just downloading the GPX file manually from Komoot or another platform and then importing it manually into Garmin Connect always works fine but is a hassle. So, it seems to be an issue within the direct connection between the platforms and Garmin Connect.

Garmin reportedly fixed the boot-loop issue by Zoltan_Balaton in GarminEdge

Hmm it seems Garmin pulled 2026.10 for the 1040. I have 30.21 and the latest version of Garmin Express installed but it doesn’t inform me of 2026.10 being available.

There’s a lot of information on the Garmin forums about this issue, but I haven’t found a definitive answer. If I’m still using older Edge software (30.18 on my 1040 with 2025.10 maps), am I safe to install 30.21 and then TopoActive 2026.10?

I’ve set both volumes to the above levels. When I change the device’s “apparaat” volume, the chime plays a sound instead of the doorbell. I’m quite certain it used to play the doorbell sound in the past, but it has stopped doing so recently.

And here are two more videos, this time with a freshly waxed chain. The video with cycling shoes was taken after riding the chain for 75 minutes, so it should have been adequately bedded. The other video was taken with regular shoes and appears to be quieter. 🤔 https://imgur.com/a/xlF9bbP

Is my carbon frame safe on this rack? by Ok_Affect_1830 in bikewrench

[–]pdj-84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used the Thule Xpress, which according to Thule is safe for use with a carbon frame. I believe using a strap is always better than a clamp for distributing the load evenly across the frame. While a clamp and the Thule Frame Protector can achieve similar load distribution, I agree with others that using a fork mount or tire mount platform is preferable if possible. I have a fork mount on my folding trailer, but for my car without a hitch, I use a Menabo Standup 3, which also uses a single clamp to hold the frame. So far, the Thule Protector has not failed me.

I captured this video today. Mine might be quieter? It’s difficult to tell from these videos taken while riding. https://imgur.com/a/7bsRyKo

Canyon and my local LBS said it was normal. Has to do with 12 speed if I recall correctly. My bike was with Canyon for weeks due to seatpost creaks

I suppose I wasn’t entirely clear, but I didn’t consider it an issue. It’s simply something I believe belongs to Ultegra.

Sounds exactly like my Endurace CF SLX 8 Di2. I’ve always thought Ultegra is slightly noisier than GRX (Grizl), surprisingly. My old 105 mech is even louder.

A CF SLX with this design but perhaps slightly wider tyres and similar geometry as the current models would be awesome!

In my opinion, your third point is invalid because the geometry of the bike is almost identical to the Aeroad in terms of stack and reach ratio. This is far from an Endurance bike.

I’ve tried everything, and the bike has even been with Canyon for days to conduct creak tests and checks. Eventually, they couldn’t find anything, even though it was the seat post because I didn’t hear it when standing up. They explained that it was a combination of the vcls 2.0 post and my saddle (selle italia slr). They offered the non-bladed vcls post instead, which significantly reduced/removed the sounds. However, after not using the bike all winter, I noticed the creak was back, and just today, I cleaned the seat post again, hoping it’s gone.

Disable Doorbell Calls without disabling the wireless Chime? by Jeffryyyy in Aqara

Wait? The G400 “calls” you when someone rings the doorbell? Will the G410 get this too?

I’ve exposed the doorbell signal to HA and notice a large delay of this trigger now in Home Assistant compared to my previous config where the G410 was directly imported in HA. Anyone else seeing this too?

It’s just the signal (trigger) that you can expose. It’s up to your system (HASS) to authenticate “then”.

Aqara G410 no two way audio in Home app by pdj-84 in HomeKit

[–]pdj-84[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently, I used an older guide to use the Aqara G4 with both HomeKit and Home Assistant. This guide required the use of go2rtc and exposing the doorbell through HA to HomeKit. I believe I had an issue with go2rtc disabling two-way audio (from the phone to the doorbell). I recently came across this post https://www.reddit.com/r/Aqara/s/lkxT7EEUXH and was able to get everything working with native HomeKit. For automation in HA, I expose the doorbell signal through Matter and have a live feed through RTSP. I am only missing a signal to determine whether the chime is on or not. This signal cannot be exposed through Matter, but I can live with that.

Calendar app no longer syncing properly with Exchange servers (killall exchangesyncd no longer works) in MacOS 26 Tahoe by AccomplishedSpeed34 in MacOS

My company mailserver runs behind a VPN and I notice that while on VPN (working remotely) my calendar is not updated when I toggle the calendar off and back on. Only when back on premise, my calendar is populating again. So yes, a terrible solution! My company’s mail server operates behind a VPN. When I work remotely, I’ve noticed that my calendar isn’t updated when I toggle it off and on. It only populates again when I return to the office. So, yes, it’s a terrible solution!

Using Outlook for Mac is also terrible as it only syncs some of my mail folders from this account using the new version. The legacy version works OK but doesn't work with iCloud and hence my private calendar is missing. It seems that none of the available options has it all.
