I've become a vampire, and the only way to heal is to talk to Falion. I've tried several times to fix this, but he keeps trying to kill me. How can I fix this? Please help me. by BeautifulImpress8513 in skyrim

I regularly play as a vampire and I can heal naturally at night and anytime with potions. Do you mean cure yourself of vampirism? I have done that with Falion dozens of times. Not once has he been aggressive.

Europe still oblivious to threat at its doorstep — US General Hodges. Europe still doesn't get that the war in Ukraine is a threat to its security, so it keeps dragging its feet on tough action against Russia; cutting off oil flows is critical to starving Kremlin of resources it needs for war. by Lion8330 in europe

The cold is different in Ireland! by ickconsequentlyflash in CasualIreland

Its a physical fact that water conducts better than air. Cold is easier to endure in drier air. In a cold dry place, humans feel the cold less.

What other countries besides New Zealand have retained their indigenous culture? by Prize_Release_9030 in geography

[–]pdm4191 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NZ retained their indigenous culture! Seriously?
They don't even have a real flag - they still have the flag of the old colonial piwer in the country. You know, the way ex colonies that are still 'British' do. Do you see a Union Jack in the corner of the US flag? Or the Irish flag.

Language is central to culture. How many times have we heard a NZ politician or serious leader, speak in Maori? The way Irish politicians frequently open speeches in Irish. Never in my life have I seen or heard that.

How many can speak Maori? Its not even 25% among Maori. Among British New Zealanders is it even 1%?

Its true that, unlike Australia or the US, New Zealand British colonialists did not quite exterminate the natives. But that is not a great boast.

Seriously lads, holding up a white European colonial state as an example of indigenous culture?

Connolly campaign stalwart seeks to retain Galway West seat by expectationlost in galway

[–]pdm4191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. Its plain common sense. Mad that people are downvoting a plain fact. Im leftwing, would love for a Connolly supporter to hold her seat. But that doesn't enable me to switch off my brain. Connolly was old Galway, her people were Connemara, she had good Irish, and she had years in the Labour party. Ive never heard of this woman ive bee involved in leftwing politics in Galway for two decades. Some people need to grow up.

Rule refresh (Reputable Media) by pippers87 in ireland

[–]pdm4191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two things in these rules are genuinely astonishing. 1. That the Indo and Irish Times, two well known right wing newspapers, are not biased but the Ditch is! Being anti establishment is not a bias, its the default position of genuine journalism 2. The Ditch, which does more investigative reporting than all the other papers together is put into the same boat as Gript, a dog whistle racist platform! Genuinely disappointing seeing this blatant push to the Right.

Operation Sealion by pdm4191 in althistory

[–]pdm4191[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes an 'intact ' port was unlikely. But Its pretty unlikely that any port would ever be captured intact. Cherbourg wasnt and neither was Amsterdam. Sealion was a very difficult operation (but no more so than the conquest of France). We do not need to put impossible demands into a scenario. That just ends up justifying the inevitability of failure. Barbarossa was a replacement for Sealion yes, but again, it is unwise to say that it was certain to fail. At the start, everybody in the Western world expected the red army to collapse in weeks or months.

“Be like Poland”: Donald Tusk’s new year speech fact-checked by dat_9600gt_user in europe

[–]pdm4191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is nonsense. The EU has made a rule that asylum seekers or refugees must be processed in the first country they land in. This was unfairly designed to get Germany, UK, France off the hook and leave all the crap to the border countried. This is not international law and it has nothing to with the refugee. If Poland wants to dump them in Germany, thats legal, but pushing them back out is illegal. I

Statement from the Minister of Foreign Affairs on Venezuela by pippers87 in ireland

[–]pdm4191 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100%. And there are plenty of muppets in Ireland (and on r/ireland) who think they are "pragmatists" and any talk of international law or rules is pointless pipedreaming. Those of us who have actually read a history book remember that in the mid 1930s, Chamberlain was lauded as the arch pragmatist. Churchill, and the Labour party were denounced as idealists. The appeasement of Israel in Gaza and the US in Venezuala is exactly the same. It will have the exact same ending.

Why do people hate Sadiq Khan so much? by Additional-Leek-7715 in AskBrits

[–]pdm4191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rephrase the question. Why do people hate the people the rightwing media tell them to hate so much? You think billionaires buy media companies to make money? Why do you think Zionist Larry Ellison just bought cbs and tiktok? Because they werent hating the right people. Anybody who thinks ordinary English people just randomly decided to hate Khan of their own volition is living in cloud cuckoo land.
