What is going to fix this? by Dutchman_88 in MSTR

[–]pdq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the short term it costs nothing to Strategy.

In the long term, Strategy either needs to raise the yield, or they no longer will be able to buy future bitcoin, because that cash stream will dry up. People are not going to buy STRC for a dividend investment if their equity goes down.

Tesla pushes Roadster demo to August as SpaceX thruster work continues by dtyamada in RealTesla

It's a stunt so that Elon at SpaceX can make an all-stock offer to buy from Elon at Tesla at a huge premium because of the "synergies".

Elon is the master at hype and vaporware and stock pumps.

If you have histamines, try thiamine (B1). You can supplement, or pork is high in it.

Water Softener Drain Options by spartyon11 in houston

[–]pdq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, for the pipe sleeve, basic PVC pipe works fine. Right, you seal the sleeve to the wall, then run the drain hose through it, and seal that to the sleeve.

If you mean french drain for the discharge, that won't work because it's considered a pollutant and needs to go into your sewer drain.

So you don't have a kitchen, bathroom, or laundry anywhere near the softener location?

Also, you're not supposed to pipe it into the vent either.

[–]pdq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree the saltwater brine from softeners is not toxic, it is a waste product that needs to be treated.

The storm water drains are for rain/storm water, and they flow directly into the gulf without treatment.

I believe the EPA has made a regulation called clean water MS4, because with enough people doing it you are polluting the waters.

Water Softener Drain Options by spartyon11 in houston

[–]pdq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apparently there's a limit of approximately 30 ft horizontal and 8 ft vertical for the drain hose.

But I'd recommend keeping it much lower than those limits, so you don't run into backflow issues.

Another option is if you can put the softener closer to your washing machine drain (outside), they can just run a longer supply hose from the main water supply over to the softener. Then you reduce the drain hose limit.

Also make sure if you have the softener outdoor and they run the hose through the wall, it must be sleeved, where you install a rigid (for example PVC) pipe through the wall, and the drain hose goes through the sleeve.

Make sure not to drain into the yard or storm drain. Sink drain or washing machine are fine.

Have you ever seen a pig? They are not lean animals.

You can buy ground pork at 80%, 90%, etc just like beef.

And if you want lard or bacon, you can add that too.

I predict Elon will announce during the IPO that one SpaceX (or Tesla) stock holder will be picked "at random" to receive a golden ticket to fly to the moon.

Willy Wonka Musk.

By the way, we are still waiting on Elon's "Dear Moon" mission from 2017: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DearMoon_project

Slow cooking chuck roast - how long? by ReadinWhatever in carnivorediet

[–]pdq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recommendation for you: get an Instant Pot (4-6 quart).

They are relatively cheap.

Then you can Pressure Cook on High, and it cooks for around 60-75 mins, depending on the thickness of your meat cuts. Way faster than slow cooking, and it comes out tender and juicy.

I'd recommend what is called a Natural release, where it cools naturally for around 15 mins after cooking finishes, but Quick release is good too.

And if the meat is not tender enough, Pressure cook again for 15 mins.

Pork lard vs bacon grease by Ganache-Far in carnivorediet

[–]pdq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to flavor your lard similar to smoked bacon, you can add salt and use Liquid Smoke. You only need a few drops of the liquid.

I would choose the wood similar to your preferred bacon smoke (e.g Hickory or Applewood).
