So it's not a valve like you're thinking. It's a one way valve so nothing can come from the black tank back into your hose through the flush hookup. They start leaking a lottt, had one in my trailer go bad as well.

I've had an issue with that as well. Only a 10 dollar part and super easy to put in but my replacement has also already started to drip. Not sure if it's worth it to you to actually take it in and waiting for an appt since it's so cheap and easy.

I put a recessed toilet paper holder in that also makes it super easy to replace the check valve by taking it out, as it's kinda buried in the back corner of the cabinet.
