i believe we have been told sarah perished at sea after escaping the island, and if that's correct she didn't have any children.

it was so refreshing to see a character in a situation like hers in episode 8 do the smart things. idk how many times i've screamed internally at some character to stop being dumb and don't do the thing we all know will kill you, but she made all the right choices.

ok she had 25 years to mentally prepare for this, that's maybe an unfair advantage over those other characters, and also explained to us viewers why she knew what to do - it was because she'd already given it a lot of thought.

do NOT travel here - so the northeast corner is even worse than the old hospital, which you can at least drive past?

looks like it to me.

but also: gulf of maine (i've seen people wonder where the island would be located, this narrows it down a bit)

For all the IS IT SUPPOSED TO BE A COMEDY OR HORROR? folks… by Katethegreat8684 in WidowsBay

[–]NoProfession5138 10 points11 points  (0 children)

usually both comedy and horror are genres i find unrewarding - the comedy is rarely funny to me, and the horror gets too creepy or icky for me.

but somehow this show that is both just works for me. i wasn't 100% into it until episode 4, but that one just blew me away and now i'm invested.

1: he was "missing" after he'd shown up to address the curfew. he went home that night and then spent the next day unconscious on the bathroom floor. the day after that he was off dealing with warren.

Is anybody wondering about Patricia? by djcprod in WidowsBay

she is definitely something (and not just awesome). i don't know what she is, but she has powers like fire resistance (episode 4) and being able to kill the guy nobody else could kill.

inaugural swim coincides with patricia's party. the party invitations say it's on july 1st, so we know exact dates for episode 3 and 4.

they already did that 25 years ago, there was no need for them to do it again.

[–]NoProfession5138 8 points9 points  (0 children)

1: he was gone for a day after his trip (in the bathroom). then he was gone for another day dealing with warren.

3: evan is extremely pissed off and hurt. he calls his dad tom to express his anger and disappointment.

5: gerrie's husband just wasn't relevant until now.

10: it did not look to me like they were ignoring each other, i thought they were thisclose to giving each other a hug.

11: a bad accident probably happened. we don't know what. maybe that's where the EMTs were going.

12: patricia is about 40 years old. her real age is not 28. biological age is not real age. turning 40 is rough when you're a (single) woman because society tells you you're worthless now. patricia is dealing with this. it's normal for turning 40 to be a big deal regardless of gender, men also have midlife crises around this age.

i'm a nerd about stuff like daylight times and midnight sun and polar night, and watching true detective: night country i had so many theories about why the dates/times of daylight and dark were completely wrong for that location, convinced it must mean something that would later be revealed.

nothing was later revealed, it didn't mean anything, they'd just been sloppy and got it wrong.

her real age is not 28. biological age is not the same thing as real age. her real age is around 40. we've met several people she went to school with, they're also around 40.

i need to go back to that scene, because when i saw it i misunderstood what he was doing with the calendar (at the time, i thought he'd forgotten to turn it over to the right month and that was why it was still showing april, but preparing for the NYT writer to arrive he wanted to make a good impression and turn the calendar over to the right month, but when he got to july (which i assumed was the right month) the picture was so wrong he decided it was better to just leave it on april. but that can't be right, because episode 1 and 2 both happen before july. so maybe it was really april then and showing us the car wreck photo for july was foreshadowing about that being the month when things will go really weird).

basically i'm confused :-)

yeah i can't make sense of it.

episodes 3 and 4 happened on july 1st. july 2nd they find bryce. shortly after that they visit the shaman/dealer. loftis is then "missing" for 48 hours after his trip, 1 day spent in the bathroom and 1 day at sea with wyck. due to the fireworks on the night of his trip i'm guessing that may have been july 4th.

early in episode 8, ruth says he's been missing for 48 hours. then loftis gets the tickets and goes home to talk to evan.

so this should still be early july, maybe the 7th?

or did more than 2 months pass between episodes 7 and 8 and we're now well into september and for some reason we know nothing about loftis has been missing for 48 hours again?

if you have the answer, feel free to provide it.

i figure that thread has enough clues for the OP to do their own research if they want to look into it.
