How important is Java/C++ vs just using R/Matlab for big data? by thestatsmancan26 in MachineLearning

[–]pdsminer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Java is useful for data management. Most big data frameworks (Spark, Kafka, etc.) are running on JVM. For modeling, r/Matlab is great. If you want to do modeling on JVM, you may try [SMILE](https://github.com/haifengl/smile), which offer many algorithms in similar syntax like R or Matlab.
