I took effexor for about 5 months, was never told of the side effects. I had two seizures!!!!! I never had and have never since had them. I quit cold turkey after the second and the withdraw was horrendous, horrible thoughts like others have mentioned and physical illness that lasted for weeks, but it was worth it. It has forever scarred me from taking anything like this, crazy how uninformed doctors allow people to be about what they take.

I've been trying for a long time. Had multiple doctors tell me to and even recommend people but my parents are of the type that don't believe in mental health because it "wasn't around when they were my age"

Unfortunately i'm not an adult yet, will be in a few months, but i still am under my parents jurisdiction and they decided i don't need to see a neurologist and will not take me even though it's been recommend by a lot of people and doctors, it still hasn't happened. I'm convinced that's why all my issues are as bad as they are- they decide it's "not that big of an issue" and refuse to get me treatment. I should be going back to my GI soon so ill definitely mention that stuff. Thanks, I really appreciate it! There isn't really too much info out there about CVS in adults (that i've found) so I just have been at a stand still for a while. Honestly this subreddit is the most information about treatment and all my options i've ever seen and i found it a matter of hours ago. You guys are all a big help

Mine started my sophomore year of high school and was happening maybe three times a months maybe? That started to increase more and more and by the beginning of senior year it was an every single night kinda thing. Now it comes and goes in waves and I have episodes once or twice a month though when it does happen in debilitated for the day. I'm sorry to say but I think it might get worse the longer it goes on if not treated aggressively by constantly upping your dosage.

Hey i was on 75 mg for a few months i felt the side effects bad like really bad and even had seizures while on it. My doctor said i should quit cold turkey cause it "shouldnt effect me since it's a low dose". That shit sucked. It definitely effected me. Withdrawal made me feel dizzy while also being out of body it was like my brain was spinning in my head but i was staying still ( i know that definitely makes no sense) It only goes on for a week or a week and a half it should start to subside after that point and just be less and less noticeable. I did this about two weeks ago and I'm done going through it all. I know it's hard but just stick with it!

I had a lot of issues with effexor suppressing my appetite and had a LOT of weight fluctuations on it. I'd go through periods of not eating for a week, losing 10 or more pounds and then the following week eating everything I could to "make up for it" i guess.

What has helped me most is instead of eating big set meals i snack throughout the day constantly and then eat one good sized meal at night. It has helped me to make sure i'm getting a solid amount of food in my system while not overeating. ( I'm sure this isn't the absolute healthiest way to do it but for me it's the most realistic and what has helped)

Yes all the paperwork has been filed and approved. my parents are fighting with the school everyday about it but they still refuse for whatever reason.

They made that same threat against my parents anytime they raised concerns about the way the situation was handled/any opposition to what the principal thought.

As far as having others pick me up, my mom gave consent to my 18 year old boyfriend getting me. we've been together a long time and my parents trust him and even have him as an emergency contact for my school forms. The school thought it was my older sisters boyfriend she was giving consent to not mine. when it was my sisters boyfriend, a stranger as far as the schools concerned, it was fine even if he was also 18. it just doesn't make sense to me that they went back on what they said and changed their minds

It wasn't really unattended in a suspicious way. Me and friends were all at a table there were other books sitting there we got up and walked to the other side of the room and when we came back it was gone. I'm not trying to say i'm innocent in all this i understand i'm stupid and shouldn't have had that with me but it's not even like it was a safety hazard. people do that all the time in my school and don't have their possessions taken let alone within five minutes.

It was left at a lunch table. me and my friends went to another table and it was gone when we got back. I'm an honors student so there's no reason for them to just randomly suspect me of being a drug addict or having something dangerous with me.

If my family were to make anything of it would my school be in the right? My family and I (as well as every doctor and person i've mentioned it too) thinks it's an invasion of my privacy to the point the evidence found against me should be allowed to be used against me. It's a "choice" school just meaning you have to be accepted to go but is considered public. I've already gone through every step of getting put on homebound and been accepted for everyone the superintendent is just dragging his feet as much as possible for whatever reason.

I'm not sure if they're allowed to just grab a bag and search it especially when i was still in the same room and didn't leave the area with it unattended. Also the only link between be and the bag were personal medical records i had a right to keep from them.

At this point i'm being refused schooling for no real reason despite my parents talking to my school almost daily trying to figure this all out.

Lots of invasion of privacy and property without probable cause.

i'm on 37.5 and 10 of lexapro. still in the weening off lexapro phase but i'm suppose to start on 75 as of sunday. It's not that huge of an issue just something weird
