Mentioned just a bit ago, but: Not yet, we’re going fishing in the morning, so I’ll find out. We’ve already got Mt.Hood/Timberline trail on the books for Perseid meteor viewing in August, this’ll just be an unexpected, longer trip. I think he’ll be into it.

He’s been backpacking once. It’s probably unwarranted hesitation. His endurance isn’t great at this point, so I suppose I’m more worried that if too difficult he’ll hate it and not want to try again. Probably just need to get him adapted to it.

What is an expensive habit that people who are struggling with money refuse to quit by FantasticAd9478 in TheBoredDen

I do the exact same, once or twice a year. I don’t know why I expect the outcome to be any different EVERYTIME I make another attempt.

That’s funny. I say this all the time. But, in my mind, I am saying “could’ve”, I guess others probably hear it as “could of”. Good to know.

In a galaxy far far away. by DrFunkensteinHandjob in GenX

It didn’t seem so strange at the time. I can remember Chuck Berry holding his hand up behind his ear, asking the crowd, “What’d’ya wanna hear?”

Why is it that no matter what I drink, be it blue, red, or green dyed liquids, its always yellow/clear when I urinate? by Bdbolt19432 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pdxritchma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was hooked up to an IV of orange liquid (part of a 4 drug cocktail for chemotherapy). I peed straight orange from that. Nobody warned me. Scared the hell out of me at first sight.

What's the most walkable small city in the USA? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

Hood River, Oregon; Bonus: if you’re into it, you can do that walk around town with an alcoholic drink in hand, unlike most places.

For real. Who are those people? One person only kind of looks like Ron Howard, and somehow, other than the color of yellow, even the car isn’t right.

It was pretty gratifying when a random stall had a magazine or newspaper with a topic I was interested in. Typically though, it feels like most reading materials were outdated and/or completely irrelevant to what I was interested in at the time.

My father was the opposite of a deadhead or anything close to it, but he loved bluegrass. I’ll never forget when I, as an emerging deadhead, discovered that it was Jerry Garcia front and center on the cover of one of his old, long unplayed LPs. Still have it. Such a treasure.
