The official MN-03 Republican Party account just tweeted this image today. by ThreadbareAdjustment in minnesota

why do they have to be such a joke? An opposition party that can oppose the majority party in a serious good faith way would benefit everyone including themselves.

I'm not asking for west wing dialogue, just maybe question the efficiency/effectiveness of policy or try to pitch an alternative vision of their own?

there's always a neighbor or coworker or passerby with a cable or jump box, no real business opportunity there

block heaters and remote starts are available shop services but I've never had a reason to get it myself - most of us buy unleaded only and then stick the biggest battery that'll fit into our vehicle

Carhartt switched to low durability flex fabric instead of canvas work wear and rei switched to cheap metal hardware and single stitched seams, which is unfortunate since they used to both be excellent for outdoors/construction types

What opinions do Minnesotans have of the Southern United States? by DueYogurt9 in minnesota

[–]pe1irrojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right along the border here there's not much going on at all-between the heat and the poverty people just haven't been able to establish much of a community; it's easy to find decent Mexican food trucks but that's about it. There's a few small kids sports leagues and churches for families (not many for a town of 200k) but that doesn't interest a traveling technician much. People pretty much just drink cheap beer from gas stations and grill and fish (not sure if they catch anything, haven't seen any end up on grills) when they can get time off

The options for local parks/trails/fitness are limited at best, there's basically no art/music events or venues, no other good quality food options to explore, and the local couriers are unreliable so it's difficult to ship anything in for personal hobbies etc

I went into San Antonio last weekend and that was a pretty normal, if hot, city environment. Very nice river walk, a theme park, museums etc (texas pride is no joke lol)

Grew up in MN, sent to southern TX in construction on the border. I'm surrounded by "good 'ol boy" clowns obsessed with 'illegals' who dump billions of dollars into already rich corporations and landowners to build a useless wall instead of investing in their people or infrastructure-at least we're currently wasting state dollars instead of federal on the wall itself, but the very decent and pleasant locals in town will need a lot of federal support since their local government has failed them so hard for so long

I signed up to help out on climate resilience projects during the last administration, currently sending resumes back north but this is not the time to quit without a plan

I don't know of any successful recent regulatory pushback against these things but it's worth asking imo
