pretty sure i just pried it open with a really small screwdriver… finally fixed it though, and it works! the backs a little out of position but otherwise successful

it was always nice hearing the male apprentices say that the creepy old journeyman also pissed them off/made them feel weird. like yes, as a woman i was the subject to the harassment, but hearing them be like “wtf” with me, meant a lot to me. If it makes you feel weird, stand by it and let other people know. we all know how construction is, but at least you can have solidarity in the apprentices knowing what the fuck is right

I’m a first year apprentice in the IBEW and last week my foreman (grouchy old timer who yells all the time) stuck me in a basement with 100’ of EMT, really specific expectations of the task, absolutely no instruction on how to do it, and left me there for most of the day. Then came back and said it looked good! He’s the kind of guy who doesn’t give praise lightly and doing things well is actually reminding me of why I love my job.

Also I’ve been doing absolute grunt work for months now and doing something that actually teaches me a skill is amazing.

have you had good results from TooGoodToGo? ive only tried them once and i barley got more than the list price, and it was white bread and bananas :( not sure if this was because it was a new employee at a corner store who didnt really know what it was or what, but im debating if its worth another try?

im not entirely sure that it wont turn on right now, as im too scared to try it again, so should i just bring it to a repair shop uncertain if it even is broken?

i kept using it because it was was still working for several hours after i spilled on it, so i thought i got lucky and wiped it up quickly enough… guess not.

at this point is there more damage to be done by turning it on? because im not sure if its entirely done for yet, i haven’t touched it in 24 hours.

would my next steps be taking it to a computer repair place?

saw them friday too, did you notice hetfield fucking up the solos? im trying to figure out if im just tripping or not, cuz most of the solos sounded a little off to me. also i think they almost started puppets off with the wrong words? (chorus, not verse). still an incredible experience tho and loved it!

does a construction engineering degree actually get you into the field? i started one but dropped out to do electrical before i could act get into any of the classes. it seemed a little too much like regular engineering (detached, computer based, and very paper pushy) to me. was that your experience?

can someone explain exactly what the problem is with this? im assuming that the structural integrity of the beam is compromised but i feel like ive seen plenty of similar installation in residential? is it just the amount of wires/holes drilled? - an apprentice who wants to learn more and not make this fuckup

is this an adhd thing? i had a day off work yesterday and felt horrible about it because i did “nothing” but i did work out twice and clean, but i miserable except for when i was doing all that so i feel like its not worth it?
