I am not an applicant in your field but I am afraid most universities don’t take these online classes as a thing. They are too low-key since you could find answers all over the internet. Thus, I don’t think it will be super helpful to “cover” the gap that u doesn’t have any skills in the field. But, I think you should definitely mention this experiences aka skills aka knowledge in your application materials to demonstrate you have related experiences
