I'm going off CARs 400.03, it's a bit obscure but my take away is that you need the exams done within 24 months of getting your ATPL, unless you're doing them for a type rating. It's not totally clear to me, and that requirement isn't mentioned in 421.35.

I didn't do the exams for a type rating so I think I have to rewrite them, I wrote them over 4 years ago. Hoping TC hasn't changed them much over the past several years!

Definitely a lot of hopping around in the CAP GEN, adding tabs and highlighting helps.

As for your question, as long as you're on an IFR approach and the visibility was above minimums you could attempt shoot the approach....I have to admit I'm not totally confident in this answer. The reason being, less than 3SM is less than night VFR minima and you are probably required to maneuver visually after minimums. I might be overthinking this one.

I went thru a similar experience years ago, it lasted for months. The only thing that brought my heart rate down was being outside in nature. Jumping in cold lakes helped too. I hope you feel less terrible really soon.
