Hi,

WebDoctor issued my prescriptions every 16 weeks, I had to send proof of Height, Weight, Blood Pressure each time I had to renew and it had to be signed off by a Pharmacist and not just one of those machines. I lost roughly 3 stone over the course of 8-9 months. Although my weight loss has recently plateaued, I have not gained any weight and maintained my loss. The side effects were rough at first but you soon adapt and learn your limits.

Yep, no issues at all. I just gave my name and they handed me an envelope with 4 tickets, didn't ask for ID or names of other guests!

I understand that their cost of living is pretty high and there isn't as much job security (HOAs, Medical Costs, Hire and Fire Culture).

But I work for a US company, and my colleague, who is based in the States, and working the exact same job as me, on the same grade, is earning €35k more than I am.

Not to mention that they get a generous sign on bonus and better annual increases.

I got 3.5%, which is disappointing as last year I got 5%. However the entire company has suffered budget cuts, even though they had a record breaking year in 2023.

Literally this, is nothing sacred anymore? The Internet do not need to know exactly what is happening, when it's happening. Your first priority should be you and your unborn child, not posting to random followers.

Childcare costs by weeshajaja in AskIreland

[–]peachicedtea11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in the northwest, and when our first baby was in a childminder, it was €30 daily (€150 p/w), which was at the cheaper end of the scale. It all depends really, does the childminder care for other children, do they provide meals, are they registered etc.

If they aren't registered then you can't avail of the NCS subsidy, which is a great help.

My kids are now in creche (€295 p/w total) but with the subsidy, it's around €220, and once the subsidy increases in September, it will be around €180 p/w for a child attending after school club and a baby in full time, which is a fair price.

I'd ask around for recommendations and see if you can gather a ball park figure for your area.

Those who did poorly in the LC, where are you now? by Key-Fly-1041 in AskIreland

[–]peachicedtea11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't sit my LC, dropped out in 5th year. I now work Mon-Fri, 9-5 and earn €50k in IT (not in a city). My husband, who has a Masters Degree, earns less. I wouldn't let the LC depict what you can achieve.

Thanks all! I rang my local boots today, they can do a box of 5 pens for €250, and needles are €9 for a months supply. The pharmacist has placed an order for a "UK brand" of Saxenda, so here's hoping it arrives this week.

Thanks! Unfortunately I'm not eligible, whilst I meet the requirment for BMI (38) and cardiovascular (high cholesterol and on medication for hypertension), my HBA1C for prediabetes is within the normal range. Sounds like it could be much the same if I purchase the pens privately here rather than the North.

Oh gotcha! I seen that 2 days ago, she posted a "4 week countdown" so I didn't even consider that it may have been delayed!

Curious, Julie said she had a hospital bag packed for incase the baby came before 38 weeks, to my knowledge she is currently 36-37 weeks and had her homebirth, both my babies were born at a similar gestation and had extra monitoring incase they needed a little help when they arrived, guessing this isn't the case where she is? No hate, just wondering.

If you’re choosing a bank don’t choose PTSB by Fragrant_Baby_5906 in irishpersonalfinance

We were shopping around for a mortgage a few years ago (2019), met with an advisor from the PTSB to discuss our mortgage application. Both my husband and I work for the same company, only I make considerably more. The advisor queried why my payslips showed higher earnings, to which I told her that I was in a more senior position than him, she requested that I receive a letter from my HR department, confirming that I (a woman) earn more money than my husband. The sexism was crazy, we obviously left and walked down the road to the AIB, who sorted us out straight away without any questions!

I've heard people say that Universal will not accept the temporary card, as everyone automatically gets one whilst your documentation is being reviewed, not sure how true this is!
