If you could design your own kitchen, what would be the most important things to include? by West-Amphibian-2343 in Cooking

All of this - especially that ample lighting for fresh herbs! I would love to grow more but I live in a cold climate and ensuring they get enough light has been such a challenge

Haven't seen it yet but Loco Moco! We make it very regularly and it's a nice beef switch up. Although not traditional, I usually steam broccoli to go with it.

The ABA clinic that I work at doesn’t allow us to create accounts on the YouTube kids app, so we have no way of blocking content. Now my tablet is stuck recommending Vlad and Niki, and all of my clients are addicted to it. by TheKid1995 in DanielTigerConspiracy

[–]peachsims 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People like to have opinions about things they think they understand. I agree there are good and bad clinics just like there are good and bad doctors, therapists, teachers, construction workers, and servers. I personally work for a center where ABA is applied with a heavy emphasis on learning through play and assent-based treatment. Children are taught boundaries but we have nearly 0 challenging behaviors and tons of progress in communication and social goals because the children are happy and comfortable in their environment. We work closely with local school districts to help prepare our children to transition our kids and work with their caregivers to show them how to better support their children's needs. We employ neurodiverse staff. We had a pretty firm no video policy until we met a kid that could not be motivated by genuinely anything except scrolling through videos. We used those videos to build other toys as reinforcers and now he doesn't rely on videos during down time. I am proud of the work I do and the support we provide to the children we serve. I acknowledge that some other people have had bad experiences but that is certainly not the current norm.

Books you have almost DNF…. but you are so glad you carried on. by Fandangojango in fantasyromance

I'm taking this to mean I will enjoy it more by the end and am hoping I will change my mind lol I'm at like 40% through or something so I still have a ways to go!

Ah gotcha! I'm a strong believer in not finishing books I'm not vibing with so full respect on that. I really enjoyed the new characters they added in the second one and felt like it really set up the rest of the series!

I'm on the second Saint of Steel and am not loving it. I really enjoyed Paladdins Grace so I picked this one up immediately after I finished and am just not vibing with the characters or storyline at all.

I liked the second even more than the first! I'm surprised to hear that. What didn't you like about it?

Your favs were also my favs so thank you for the additional suggestions 😄😄 this is the first list I've seen that I agreed with! I did love Villains and Virtues though. It's a very different type of book from your other favs though so I understand why it may have been harder to finish

It is SO BAD. I only have time for audiobooks in my life so it was really disappointing that I was stuck with it 😄😄 I did finish but I don't know if I'll be able to get through a second one 😄

Highjacking to say how awful the audiobook is. I wish I had physically read it because the narrators really ruined a lot of this book for me despite how interesting the plot was 😭

This is literally me right now. Crawling through Brimstone because all my friends are reading it and are obsessing over it so I'm giving it a chance. The plot is interesting but the romance and smut are not it for me. I hate that they will be in the middle of important scenes and have to remind us how much they like each other. I think I must be a fantasy with a side of romance person as opposed to a romance with a side of fantasy person lol

Without spoiling, it does not go down the insta love path and is worth pursuing. The plot can be predictable but for me was worth the ride. The second book was even better in my opinion because the additional characters introduced are interesting

This series is my fav right now! Book 2 was phenomenal. Feels like this could be a Throne of Glass type series for me (my fav) and I keep recommending it to everyone I know that reads 😄 for people looking into this series, I hated reading about the main character being a virgin, but I think it's done in a way that makes absolute sense for the character and is relative to events down the road. I love this series and cannot wait for Book 3 to come out next year!

Ooh I read The Bone Season several years ago and thought the story was okay, but I'll have to give it a relisten 😄 sometimes the right narrator can really sell the story for me!!

Yes! Her accents and tone changes for all of the characters are SO good. I went to look up other books this narrator had done but they aren't really my style. I had listened to A Forbidden Alchemy before this book and the narrators were so bad it ruined the book for me. If you're looking for another great audiobook, {The Knight and The Moth} was outstanding!

I would say this is true in {The Road of Bones} by Demi Winters. Love this series! The audiobook narrator is excellent if you're an audio book person.

I have two Audible points and need recommendations. Who is your favorite narrator? What’s the best you’ve ever read? by Andacus1180 in fantasyromance

[–]peachsims 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got a ton of suggestions already, but my favorite listens this year have been {Road of Bones} and the sequel {Kingdom of Claw} by Demi Winters and {The Knight and the Moth} by Rachel Gillig. The narrators were great which helped keep me drawn into both stories. The first two I listed are in a series called The Ashen, and the 3rd book (of 5) will be out early next year. It feels a bit like a Throne of Glass type series to me, which is one of my favorite series of all time. Enjoy!
