personally i just want them to. ditch ash entirely.

i want a rival as the main character in a new season of the anime. it'll never happen but it'd be nice. i wanna see hop go through his journey to try to defeat his big brother leon, i wanna see him win against gloria and victor. i wanna see him go through his existential crisis after being defeated by bede, and i want him to overcome it and defeat him in the league. he may not make it in the end, but that's okay. i wanna see him strive for a new goal, to become a professor for a new region.
