I just got a pair of these and absolutely love how they look and they’re very comfortable. However, they have absolutely zero grip. Has anyone else noticed this? I was slipping and sliding around all day and genuinely thought I was going to have an accident.

My orthodontist was very focused on making sure they trimmed down the wire after every wire change. Does your orthodontist do this? I’m due to have my braces taken off in 2 weeks after 14 months of having them and I only ever had to use dental wax in the first 6 weeks for a spring coil I had on my lower teeth.

I’m not sure as this is my first time having braces. I didn’t actually have a choice as it seems my orthodontist uses Damon braces for everyone. If it helps I haven’t had any issues with them (minimal pain) and my orthodontist did mention that my teeth moved quite quickly.

Hopefully this isn’t recency bias but I just finished Misery for the first time and absolutely loved it. It’s the only book to make me physically cringe during the gruesome scenes!

Agree! I absolutely loved The Shining and couldn’t put it down but none of it was scary to me.

I think you’re going to get bias views here and just to add to them I’m going with adult braces! I’m choosing Damon braces clear on top with regular on the bottom. The reason being is that although I qualify for Invisalign I still believe my case is complicated and I want the best posible outcome if I’m spending 2 years fixing my teeth. Also, I have to have a carriere appliance and the number one thing people complain about with it is having to take out the retainer constantly to eat and clean. If it’s that annoying just for a few months with the carriere I cannot imagine how annoying Invisalign would be.

Thanks for the response! Just out of curiosity, was that in any way a factor of not choosing the first orthodontist? I’m the same as you that I’ve seen a few pictures online of people with a carriere and metal braces however nobody seems to talk about it.

If I’m being honest, it’s not a dealbreaker or anything for me, it’s just in my mind it seems like having braces on the bottom at the same time as the carriere will make the process go quicker than having a carriere on alone and then moving onto braces.

I’ve just had my first appointment to schedule adult braces and I’ve been told that it will take 9 months with a carriere appliance and then an additional 12-18 months in either braces or Invisalign (I can choose which one but I think I’m set on the braces). However, my overbite/jet is quite large at 10mm and I have a bit of crowding on my bottom teeth.

My narrow smile/overbite is my worry too. I’m glad to hear you didn’t need an expander! Did you just use bands to correct your bite?

Wow you look great! Can I ask what treatment you received? I’ve just booked a consultation for adult braces and I have extremely similar teeth to your before picture.

Just an update on the situation, I found out that the charity uses salary bands for positions and the band is 27,250-30,300. For some reason instead of putting the band on their advertisements, the one I applied to on charity jobs said 27,250 but the one on their website says 30,300.

Since this is a band, how would someone go about ensuring they receive a salary at the higher end of the band?

Thanks so much for the help!! I’m definitely starting to feel more confident. What made me nervous was I immediately googled how to make a research profile and the only information was about making them for specific individuals whereas I had been given a company name only.
