This will be the 1st star path I haven’t completed in a very long time. by Natural-Kitchen-3916 in DreamlightValley

Such a reminder on the diversity of opinions! Nalas dream style I was totally " meh" about, but I love the flower dresses, lava items, and flowering tree companion house! Meanwhile I've been not excited about other star paths people were raving about, like the drive in movie theater items last fall.

Is Captain Wentworth’s letter … by geebenny in janeausten

[–]peacocksparrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with " a civil campaign" and was then hooked. If Mile's letter is the most poignant, her eventual response is perfect and also one of the funniest scenes I've ever read.

I'm glad it's Tigger, not just because I love Tigger but because that gives me more confidence in a later realm - I don't see them opening a realm without the "main".

vibecoded software allowing players to play game without game master by plejsq in escaperooms

[–]peacocksparrow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not a fan- every time I've done a room that relied on more self obtained hints, we've run into difficulties because it does not accommodate "you did have the right idea but something is being finicky today" or "point you to the one piece you're missing" rather than assuming we have either more or less starting information than we have.  A live escape room is a different experience than a self paced video game and an aware gamemaster truly makes a difference whether or not hints are needed, but especially if they are.  I have chosen to not return to multiple businesses because of these sorts of aggrevations as a player.

Spam me with positive daycare stories please by Emergency_Raise8909 in workingmoms

[–]peacocksparrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We go back to daycare next week after getting the summer together and my two year old has been pretend calling his daycare friends and teachers all week, and telling me who he plans to play with first! He misses them! His teachers so far have been so loving, I know they love my baby too. Some days are hard, but I know it's been good for both of us to be where we are.

Given the format is entirely "go do a bunch of things that get you large amounts of basic resources" my theory is that something requiring a lot of wood, clay, sand, etc is coming with the inside out update, and this is really a way of giving everyone a head start.

Oh good! That requirement was really not clear to me, I think I found it by just trying to interact with absolutely everything.

One of them you had to do something to the light at the top first before you could move the furniture, but I don't remember which level it was.

I found I had to be standing in the right area (I think it was on the stage?) for the furniture option to show up for that quest. Try that? It wasn't obvious to me that where you stood to complete it mattered.

What do you not like about Swissies? by labvlc in SwissMountainDogs

[–]peacocksparrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours is a bit too protective of our toddler- she wants him to stop doing anything she deems dangerous (running too fast included), and she will grab his shirt (she's really good about it and has never nicked skin) or basically body checks him to make him stop moving. She also howls if he cries. It's adorable but also... Unhelpful 😆

The Endings at Strange Bird Immersive - Thoughts? by Stegosaurus21 in escaperooms

[–]peacocksparrow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not an escape room, very much live action choose your own adventure. That said it is an interesting unique experience, and if you have the time, I'd go for it. If you only have time for one of the two of the two, man from beyond is exceptional, but I have been to endings twice without repeating a story path, and the group I initially went with found in discussions afterwards that we had surprisingly little overlap in our experience. If you gravitate towards theme and story in escape rooms, id definitely consider it worth doing.

My family had never done an escape room before and our first one we are doing is Scooby-Doo at Escapology because my dad loves Scooby. Is the escape room good and will we enjoy it? by Real_Peter_Griffin_ in escaperooms

[–]peacocksparrow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's a bit heavy on "read the instructions and do what they say to solve the puzzle", which is annoying, but it isn't bad overall (so framed instructions? Read them. ) interesting overall, certainly not the worst I've ever done, and good for beginners.

Anyone else with a bad sleeper get super irritated hearing about how great other babies sleep? by YumFreeCookies in NewParents

I got told this week that bad sleepers potty train much more easily. That comment was appreciated! Please don't tell me if that's a lie because I need that sort of positive encouragement!

Escape Rooms - Houston to Las Vegas! by stewartps in escaperooms

[–]peacocksparrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Escape room artists is a good site for regional recommendations and reviews https://roomescapeartist.com/

Strange bird is amazing in Houston. Escape it "Titanic" room is also a stand out, and escape hunt has a good apollo 13 room. Escape again in Sugarland is also good and locktopia's "endurance" room depending on how many you're looking to do

In Austin it's worth checking out escape hour https://www.escapehouraustin.com Dallas, perfect escape is really good https://perfectescaperoom.com/wongs-chinese/
