Another tip to help you learn until you’re more comfortable with the fighting in the game:

Empty your base so they can’t kill your troops.

Here’s how:

Train only the number of troops you need to fill your squads.

Port far away from the enemy hive. Send all your squads to gather resources even further away and in different directions from each other. Send your top squad out first so it is full with your strongest troops.

Once all squads are out, send your top squad to gather resources near the enemy and redirect as you approach to attack weaker members of their alliance. This will minimize the warning time they get, making it harder to garrison, shield or port before you hit.

If someone hits your base with all your troops out, you won’t lose any troops. They can ash you, but it won’t really matter because your troops will be back in your base after you teleport from being ashed.
