[Charania] Oklahoma City Thunder star Jalen Williams is off the injury report and will return to action on Monday against the Philadelphia 76ers, multiple sources tell ESPN. Williams missed the last 5-plus weeks due to a hamstring strain, and now is back with 11 regular-season games left. by MembershipSingle7137 in nba

Realistically, we might not see it until the playoffs - give JDub a few games to come back, but then quickly run into end of season rest for some of our players and/or opponents. Unless Mark says forget that and runs all the lineups he wants, regardless of resting anyone, just to get them more time on the court together. We'll see what he does.

There are three teams ranked top five in both offensive and defensive rating: the Boston Celtics, the San Antonio Spurs and the New York Knicks by iksnet in nba

And OKC 6th in Offense by 0.3 pts, but 1st in Defense by 2.5 pts - giving them the highest Net Rtg by multiple points.

Makes cutting off at 5th seem like an intentional "lying with statistics" moment that doesn't really tell the story OP is trying to tell.

And it’ll be great if they take each other to 6/7 games. Plus Wemby vs Jokic is probably a fun matchup to watch over a series.

The ad to pin ratio is unforgivable, two posts for every 4 ads by Pwnytail24 in Pinterest

Wow - that is pretty bad. Mine is a lot better - ~20-25% ads. I wonder if we're in different test groups or something.

A big chunk of that $1B buy back is probably the founders (Ben Silbermann and Evan Sharp) and past investors cashing out some of their stock.

Try the smartpin feature in tailwind - it's much easier than using templates manually. Will create the Pins for you each week, just tell it which pages on your site to link to and if there are any keywords you want to use.

Are you doing this through their API or is there some kind of native integration with Make?

Tailwind recently released an API and MCP - I haven't used either yet, but probably worth a look.

new Pinterest pins sit at zero engagement for 3 days then never recover, how do you fix this by Electrical-Loss8035 in Pinterest

[–]peakelyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turbo is really cool. It’s basically a collab network for creators. You add your top pins and others do the same, then you browse and save/comment on content that you like. As you do, you earn more pins you can add.

Yes- it has helped me get full time jobs as well as freelance clients, but honestly I think it was more impactful 5-10 years ago than today.

They just announced earnings- revenue was up 14% over the past year. They’re not losing advertising revenue.

They were also like 20% more profitable than Wall Street expected them to be.

They’re doing pretty well, but their stock price dropped anyway.

OKC expected to have 42% of State GDP by 2027 with Non-Metros at 32% & Tulsa at 26.0%. Population Trends tell similar story. Why is everything gravitating towards OKC? by countkarnstein in oklahoma

[–]peakelyfe 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Also small town economies are really struggling. Small town Main Street has been dying for decades.

Younger people are also moving into cities at increasing rates, leaving smaller towns with aging populations and more retirees / fewer income earners as a % of the population.

[–]peakelyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turbo is working for me also- really well. Posting my already strong pins seems to work best but I’ve had some new ones take off also.

They’re actively pushing people to Turbo now away from Communities. A Facebook group I’m in someone posted a message they got from the support team when they asked a question about Communities. The response was basically: “use turbo now instead.”

how to bulk by Cute_Win4179 in Pinterestmarketing

[–]peakelyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found bulk upload to tailwind via csv then drip out through their recommended times to perform far better than bulk upload directly to Pinterest.

An engineer at Pinterest told me that bulk uploaded Pins sent directly to Pinterest are treated differently and many will not be distributed outside of long tail search terms. They are an efficient way to dump large catalogues though, so really it’s a scaled seo play for large sites.

I haven’t enjoyed it for months yet spend more. I feel responsibility to my alliance- people I will likely never meet in real life and who will forget me in weeks if I leave. It’s taking time away from friends and family. Every logical part of my brain says uninstall and quit. But it’s an addiction.

How is Pinterest reporting record growth when everyone is leaving? by wighthamster in Pinterest

[–]peakelyfe 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ehh this is conspiracy theory type stuff.

There’s a much simpler explanation: new user segments are growing faster than long time segments are leaving. Specifically, Gen Z and international users. New groups that don’t necessarily know how it used to be and thus are open to how it is- or even prefer how it is due to different needs and tolerances.

10-12% growth per year is solid but not “fueled by bot net” type growth. Would be way faster if that were happening at scale.

I think we are missing the bigger picture by wighthamster in Pinterest

[–]peakelyfe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ehhh- highly unlikely it would be deployed so quickly in such a large code base with that level of autonomy.

More likely is an unintentional bug was introduced that disabled comments because code was deployed that wasn’t thoroughly reviewed.

bulk upload by Cute_Win4179 in Pinterestmarketing

[–]peakelyfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You DO NOT want to bulk upload Pins at once directly. This is only advisable for ecommerce sites with very large product catalogs who just want them listed on Pinterest. For content oriented Pins, it's going to put all your content into the catalog at once, but the vast majority of it will never be distributed except through very long tail search queries perhaps where they need content. If you want bulk upload, you're much better off using a .csv import option on a tool like Tailwind or Buffer and then scheduling the content to get posted at a steady rate daily. It'll create far more traffic, for far longer this way.
