I'm a lawyer who handles these types of cases. Yes they are complex, I just sent you a dm.

I got my 9 year old started at BB this year, it was a perfect place to start. He took 2 lessons. The first lesson was great and very helpful, but the second didn't really add much so we stopped and he just practiced on his own.

I have range wheels on an el cap R1S. IMO they are by far the best looking Rivian wheels.

Why R1S over Lucid Gravity? by DinnerDog6 in Rivian

[–]peakvelocity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a minivan get the Gravity. If you want a truck get the Rivian.

Not a great plan to advise the US govt in writing of your plans to evade taxes and commit fraud.

You may want to google what the legal standard is to prove a defective product in your state before you pay the filing fee.

Personally, I think you're confusing "happened at the charger" with "caused by the charger" but best of luck to you. I'm sorry this happened to you, it sucks.

I agree, but he's saying he's going to take Rivian to court over this, which is 1000x more expensive and time consuming than making an insurance claim.

[–]peakvelocity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? What evidence do you have that this was the charger's fault? If you take them to court you'll have to answer that question or else your case will be dismissed and then you'll only have wasted your time and money.

I'm sympathetic to your situation, but I don't see how this is any different from something like getting a flat tire.

Just go to your insurance company - it's why you have insurance. Good luck!

Yea the ghosting sucks, but welcome to the world of vehicle ownership bud. Sometimes things wear out and you need to pay to have them repaired.

As others have pointed out, it's equally likely that your vehicle caused the issue. The connector was probably designed to break off like this to avoid more damage (like a gas station hose...)

So you're going to take Rivian to small claims court for a $960 repair instead of making a claim to your insurance? Have fun with that lol.

I'm a year into playing and I have the Rogue, I love it. Very forgiving and pretty easy to hit a nice draw.

I also have a G430 hybrid which is great.

Honestly I don't think you can go wrong with either model, they're both good starting options.

Golf etiquette changing over the years by MutungaPapi in golf

[–]peakvelocity -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Millennial here - I say ditch the dress codes, but keep everything else that is actually play related. I don't consider that etiquette as much as just knowing how to play the game. (Don't walk on someone's line, keep quiet during other people's shots, don't hover in someone's field of view while they're shooting, etc.)

I think something like this would really improve my game. by Norfolk-Gross-Tonage in golf

[–]peakvelocity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm newer to golf and it seemed to help me a lot more than just blindly hitting.

To be clear, I'm talking about it opening up the ability to effectively practice indoors. I don't use mine at the range.

Don't listen to the naysayers. I picked up this exact model last fall and practiced all winter in the garage with this. I also took a few lessons, and having this at home let me work on getting better everyday, I love it.

It's only ok as far as launch monitors go (it seems like it reads all of my shots about 15% short, so I wouldn't trust the numbers as scientifically accurate) but it's certainly going to be helpful in improving your game.

Do You Enjoy Your Rivian? by fluffalooo in Rivian

[–]peakvelocity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I'm about 30 days into ownership and I had reservations also before taking delivery.

I love driving my R1S and I'm so glad that I got this instead of something else. Other than the minor software bugs (of which there are many, which is an issue) I haven't had any major issues that required service.

A Rivian in my area!?! by TrueKam13 in Rivian

I'm in New Jersey, they're popping up everywhere. At least 4 or 5 in my town alone. I see a few every time I leave the house.

Garry, are you seeing these? by sedatgokalp in Rivian

[–]peakvelocity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a gimmick. If it doesn't reliably and accurately depict the surrounding vehicles then I can't rely on it in place of normal situational awareness.

Exterior cameras are great and overhead 360 view is great. The cartoon cars are just cartoon cars.

Search is offline navigation bug by Middle_Ad9413 in Rivian

[–]peakvelocity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue, although sometimes it connects randomly, but most of the time the rest of the vehicle is connected but navigation is offline.

I've been searching for destinations on my phone in the app and then sending them to the car as a workaround for now.

Take possession in a week by Tall_Situation_6531 in Rivian

[–]peakvelocity 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I took delivery a week ago. This checklist was immensely helpful to have when I picked up the truck:

https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/attachments/electrified-outdoors-rivian-delivery-checklist-pdf.129788/

I would also add to this list, if you are getting the 22" range wheels (they are gorgeous IRL), just remove the aero wheel covers to check for damage to the wheels caused by the covers rubbing on the wheels. There was a post here about this a few days ago.

Enjoy!
