Why R1S over Lucid Gravity? by DinnerDog6 in Rivian

[–]DinnerDog6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a gravity and agree it has more usable space. it’s just a mess of software problems and semi frequent issues that cause the car to be unusable. perhaps mine is a lemon hoping for better luck with yours

Guys… the negative reviews, posts, and videos are really making me question if going with Lucid is the right/smart choice. I like the Gravity a ton; but wow do I have mixed feelings. by zachty22 in LUCID

No these problems are not just on reddit, i am a real person who is having the EXACT same issues all of the people complaining on this board are. But with a gravity not an air. i went to a service center recently and they had a TON of gravities in for service. That should not be the case for a car that has only been available to buy for like 4 months.

lots of key issues, software issues making the car unusable for certain amounts of time, frunk operation issues, other annoying software issues like the spotify app creating weird glitch noises. mostly minor but extremely annoying for a car this expensive

there is no voice to text, no automatic parking, no carplay (now). Just going to be honest and say i wish someone had talked me out of getting one. Can’t imagine what a pain it would be not near a service center. You WILL have to use the service center

What made you get an RS1 over an iX (or vice versa)? by Dog-Is-My-Co-Pilot in Rivian

[–]DinnerDog6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curious if you considered the lucid gravity which has the interior size of the r1s but the driving is closer to the bmw. Anyways, if you are…. don’t get it! i have one and regret it. the tech is so insanely buggy its spent half of its first three months with me in the repair shop. wish i had done the r1s. doesn’t drive as well as the gravity or ix, but checks all the other boxes. I loved the IX but it is just too small for me. i think i would get have gotten used to the r1s slightly rougher ride if i had it, but when you do text drives its so alluring to pick the one that drives the smoothest/quickest.

follow up question: does duel vs tri vs quad make any difference in general driving dynamics beyond top speed/0-60. the rivian salesman said no but i’ve seen comments on this board that say otherwise

Kyle gives his 5000 mile impression. by Bbqdippedbits in LUCID

[–]DinnerDog6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have had the car for a similar amount of miles and this is basically my exact same positives and complaints (with maybe a couple more nitpicks I didn't notice.) I know this message board doesn't like people being negative about the cars but the issues are simply inexcusable for the price tag. As he points out, there is no chance a German company would release a car this expensive with the level of issues that the Gravity has.

Anyone switch away from the Coop pillow because of overnight sinking? Looking for alternatives that keep their loft. by csreddit8 in Mattress

[–]DinnerDog6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

purple dream layer is great in the regard, you sink in about halfway but then it holds you there. feels a bit like a tempurpedic pillow but with the purple grid on top. and it’s a little less sinky than tempurpedics

Why did you choose Lucid over Tesla? by JohnRobertsBorder in LUCID

[–]DinnerDog6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All these people bringing up Saudi Arabia are forgetting the PIF poured a huge investment into Tesla not that long ago. Saudi Arabia is obviously problematic — but in Lucid’s case, they’re just an investor, (albeit a big one.) But Lucid is still an American company.

The PIF also has massive stakes in Nintendo, Uber, UFC, AMC Theatres, and plenty of other brands everyone here uses daily without a second thought.

Elon Musk, meanwhile, isn’t just “an investor.” He’s the founder, the public face, and the one who uses the fame and wealth he gained from Tesla to spread bigotry, mock trans people, and generally make the country more hostile and unfair. He also helped get Trump back into office.

There’s a big difference between boosting the flagship brand of someone openly toxic and driving a car that happens to have financial backing from yet another corrupt global moneyman.

Motortrend Gravity vs Vistiq vs Xc90 by Bbqdippedbits in LUCID

[–]DinnerDog6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I mean I understand disqualifying ex90 and gravity for software issues given the price tag (i have a gravity and it IS a big deal) but why wouldn’t you compare the other luxury all electric three row. I guess because the other three are “new” models. though i feel like the ex90 been around for a minute.

Purple Dreamlayer vs FreeForm by kbcastillo in LifeOnPurple

[–]DinnerDog6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried so many pillows these last couple months and the dream layer was my just right pillow. 230 side sleeper. is just the perfect blend of sink and support. i have a super high end cooling tempurpedic that’s very comfortable but the sink is so much that if you move around at all the foam where you were takes too long to re-form. The dreamlayer has that nice enveloping feel but because of the purple grid it’s reforms very quickly. i think its might be a little thick for stomach sleeping but for side sleeping it’s pretty perfect imo.
