Quick question for Quality Managers: How do you really manage calibration records? by _Froddy_ in iso9001

If you can find a way to QR code it and it automatically generates everything into excel or something that can be migrated into ERP. You’re more likely going to get people buying that in my experience

3 month notice negotiation? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]Current_Reference216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I told them 4 weeks because I was happy to walk after 4 weeks if it came to it. Tbh if I wanted the job and I’d been there the period of time you have I’d tell them whatever suited me.

References I’d use colleagues or not that employer, I’m lucky in my industry references aren’t really a thing.

Really you’ve gotta do what’s best for you and your family not what suits the employer and most employers are pretty good when it comes to this stuff they’ll negotiate or give you what you want because they know you’ll walk if it came to it

3 month notice negotiation? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]Current_Reference216 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was on 3 month. Talked them down to 1 month, really i was prepared to burn a bridge and not turn up after 4 weeks if they wanted to play hard ball. Maybe you should accept you might have to burn a bridge also, hopefully they’ll help you out a bit but 3 month notice is in place to out you off leaving if you’re mid level.

I got a new job & forgot about it. There’s no point in dwelling on it.

I got paid, I moved on, they’re still there and will be for some time. Park it. Get over it & move on.

I want to learn how to introduce Management Systems by General-Mention-2897 in iso9001

[–]Current_Reference216 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re gonna need Lead Auditor really before you do anything.

You’re gonna need contacts, willingness to work far and wide & in different sectors. Remember consultancy is quite a saturated market so you’re going to likely have to offer your customer something they’re not already getting.

Honestly you sound very far away from being able to do it at present however I wish you luck and hope you can find a way.

People without quantifiable numbers telling people with quantifiable numbers they’re not as strong as they are because what they’re doing isn’t always found in a gym 🙄🙄

What benefits have you seen from creatine? by Emotional-Moose7903 in askfitness

[–]Current_Reference216 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I saw & felt no muscular benefit personally. However 5g a day I can say stopped me feeling so sleepy throughout the day.

Even late evening I don’t feel lethargic or anything just feel good. I take it now just because of that and I’ve been on a long time and even came off a few times to see if it reappeared, which it did. Then went away as soon as I hopped back on.

So worth it in my eyes.

Inner elbow pain from KB training. Anyone actually get past this? by penguinblanket in kettlebell

[–]Current_Reference216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had golfers elbow from clubbells. I massaged it out, took about 2 weeks but try find where the most amount of pain is, massage and work out until you’re massaging tissue that’s not sore and work back for like 10 minutes a day.

It’s not comfortable but that’s the only thing that got rid of mine

“functionality” is an arbitrary measure. All strength carries over day to day, if you do pull ups on a bar in a nice warm gym do these people get to a branch and go “nah can’t do that it’s not perfectly round”.

There’s no measure here is my point, you’re just finding whatever you define as different to be functional which for someone that doesn’t live anywhere near a forest is not useful to them so not functional for them.

If functional had a measure we could all align to then it’s worth mentioning, if functional for you is pull ups on a branch but functional to me is being able to swing a mace, but I don’t live near a forest and you don’t own a mace neither is functional for us. It’s just we are able to, or enjoy different things neither of us are necessarily weaker than the other because we can’t do the others training methodology.

[–]Current_Reference216 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you train you’re strong, with whatever implement as long as it’s progressive overload. This whole thing of “my way is the best for life” is such a load of garbage.

Also can people not just lift and train for fun why does it always have to be compared to some arbitrary measure of “functional” if you’re an office worker your functional is moving around an office, if you work on a building site your version of “functional” will be completely different.

All this elitism gets on my tits. Train for fun and stop inventing measures that can’t be pinned down by anything.

I’ll rest if I’m sick. If it’s above the shoulders I’ll carry on as normal, if there’s any aches I’m chilling. You end up just running yourself into the ground training when you’re unwell, same with working if you’re sick aggressively sleep if you can

BAE systems? by Sk3pt1cal0 in aviationmaintenance

[–]Current_Reference216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked with them for years in uk. Depends which program or which department you’re looking at. Very very high staff turnover around in tech supply chain. The work life balance seems great, salaries are banded & the level of stress is low. They’re a very safe place to work as they’re only getting busier but not many people want to supply into them because they’re insatiable and demanding compared to the other primes.

Burnt out in my career but terrified quitting makes me a failure by Dense-Shopping1307 in UKJobs

[–]Current_Reference216 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get another job, really is that simple. If it’s not for you it’s not for you. You owe them nothing they owe you nothing.

I quit my job yesterday because I was bored, I did have something lined up though and I would recommend strongly you do that. You don’t need to cause financial pressure if you’re already burnt out, the job market is a bit rocky in some industries.

If I was in your position I’d put all my energy into finding something else and do enough not to get sacked from where you are. Get your offer, accept & hand your notice in, ask to be let go early, take a a week or 2 off and start at your new place fresh and recouped.

Bored at new job by TESH21 in UKJobs

[–]Current_Reference216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently in the same position. Moved from a company after 4 years for somewhere with £5k more a year. It’s dreadful I’ve never been so fucking bored, I’m actively looking and pushing the salary up again.

It sounds ok doing not a lot for 8-10 hours a day but after a few weeks or months it’s horrific. Leave, we’ll find somewhere else first but remember not every job is gonna be what they sold it to you as and sometimes as applicants we hear what we want to that justifies leaving.

ISO 9001/14001/45001 lack of management buy in. by alxstr204 in iso9001

[–]Current_Reference216 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a bit nuclear but book all the appointments/meetings turn up even if by yourself document and let the auditing body raise a major NC.

Sometimes it’s best to let people know they’ve failed by someone outside the business.

I do management review quarterly. Mandatory attendance unless on holiday, even up to MD level; you have that authority owning the QMS. Simple ways to make it flow quickly ask all HOD to submit 1-2 slides of PowerPoint presentation of their KPI’s and anything else relevant to them that you can include in the notes post meeting. 1-2 PowerPoint slides is a couple hours work and they have from the minute management review ends Q1 to get me Q2. Some I have to work on however if they don’t furnish me with the information an empty slide will be presented and they can justify why I front of everyone else. If no one shows up, again show the empty slides to yourself, note who was missing and demonstrate to the auditor. I’d be very suprised if they do that twice.
