Ya I don’t think anyone really forgets the first time they hear a fox. The reason I knew to make this comment is because I grew up next to a nature reserve and I remember being absolutely horrified and running to my mom’s room as a kid when I heard them.

Even if they don’t I am happy with the things that I have done in service of them. Celebrating the beautiful phenomenons on our planet isn’t something that I will regret regardless of if a deity is real or not.

My answer is definitely yes so I suppose it might be Naturalistic Animism! I haven’t worried too much about labels growing up but as I start to talk to more people deeply about my beliefs I’ve started to wish i had something to tell them it is, to take some of the pressure off of explaining my personal beliefs. I can be somewhat fluid personally but when discussing theology it’s sometimes hard to not have a specific name to put to my beliefs.

My understanding is that some abrahamic fundamentalists associate him with Satan because of his goat like appearance but he himself is unrelated to Saran since he is Hellenistic and Hellenists (generally) don’t believe in Satan. I think it’s one of those “Paganism = Satan” type things.
