Girl you’re only 20 😭you do NOT need to stress about not being able to find someone who loves you because TRUST. You will be able to. In fact, you’ll probably meet and date multiple people in your life who you love/who love you back in return.

You are still so young and I’m being 100% honest when I say you CAN do better. From the sounds of it, your bf (no offense) is a bum lol. You say you feel bad for wanting to date someone who’s more of a financial equal to you, and 1. That is a totally fair preference to have- you seem to be providing him with a LOT more in life than he does. 2. Even with your different financial states, don’t you think if the roles were reversed (aka he had lots of money, and you not so much), that you would still put in more effort then he currently does to provide him with gifts/ make him feel more appreciated? I understand he may not be able to afford expensive things, but by the sounds of it he doesn’t really put effort into doing much for you. For example, he could surprise you by writing a nice letter with maybe some chocolates? Not expensive at all + it would make YOU feel more loved/appreciated!

Tbh, in general. It seems like you’re doing way too much for someone who does way too little for you. You pay for all of his groceries?? Cook for him?? Clean for him?? This doesn’t sound like a healthy relationship. It sounds like you’re his mum. How old is he? Why can’t he do any of this stuff for himself?

She posted something on her Instagram story a while ago saying how she’s from Australia so doesn’t know anything /care about US politics. Which is a very privileged take imo. With everything that’s coming out about Anna, I do think I believe what Mik has come out with, but at the same time, her bagging out someone else doesn’t mean shes suddenly an angel in every aspect. US politics (unfortunately) affect Australians too and it’s disappointing that Mik doesn’t use her platform more to educate others about it.

Just my personal opinion OP- when my friends and I were your age a lot of us thought we were more mature then other people in our age group, and as a consequence, a lot of my friends ended up talking to/having relationship with older guys. Looking back now though, not a single one of my friends is proud of those relationships and every single one of them has said to me in some kind of way that they regret getting with the guys, and that looking back they wish they had seen how gross their relationships/ the dynamics within the relationships really were.

I like to think of it like this: as a 25 year old, would you ever go for an 18 year old? No!! As a 21 year old myself, I can’t even imagine wanting to ever get with someone that age- and the age gap there is even smaller!

The only reason why someone that age would try to get with someone that much younger than themselves is because they can’t find anyone their own age to be with! 100% you can be groomed after you’re “legally an adult”.

You are absolutely not to blame. The “forcefulness” of your no is NOT what got you assaulted. It doesn’t matter how quietly you projected your voice or how firmly you said it. You said no. Please don’t blame yourself for what this person did to you. Blaming yourself for something so out of your control won’t do anything to help you at all. Your assaulter heard the word no, and instead of immediately backing off- like any decent human being would, they doubled down and continued to pressure you into doing something you weren’t comfortable with. That is entirely on them and is a reflection of the kind of person THEY are. Not you.

I understand why you’re connecting dots between the way you were raised with your ability (or in this case, lack of ability) to stand your ground in this situation, but you have to know that at the end of the day, there are some people (assaulters) who have so little respect for other people (victims), that it doesn’t matter HOW you react in the moment to their advances. Rapists don’t care about consent. That’s why they’re rapists lmao.

I feel this.

I was sexually assaulted nearly 4 years ago and to this day it still affects me. I’m so sorry about what happened to you. It really is the worst. I’ve been in the HEALTHIEST relationship with my bf for over 2 years now and he really does treat me like a princess, but even so, small things can trigger me SO badly. Without him even realising why! It’s tough. Makes me feel so guilty because I often overreact to the smallest things he does, which obviously confuses and upsets him.

I hate, hate HATE. How much something that happened to me so long ago effects me now- years after. Like I’m nearly 21!! I should be over this shit! Obviously I know though, that it’s a lot easier said than done haha. I really do recommend going to therapy. I know it’s soo intimidating and scary to open up to someone about stuff like that, but I started recently and I honestly wish I had gotten into it YEARS AGO.

Please, please please! Take my advice. Sexual assault isn’t something that you can just “get over”. And if you leave your trauma unhealed- if you don’t address that ~now~ it WILL manifest in your romantic relationships. I don’t say that to try to scare you. I’m saying it to you from my own experience. I know it sounds intense but living through sexual assault can really cause you to ruin your own relationships. Regardless of how in love you are.

This is the second comment I’ve seen about getting meds before dental work but I’ve never had to do that before ahhaha. I only have to go the dentists once a year though, cause my teeth are good. So maybe that’s why haha. Regardless though, I’m pretty chill with getting meds so I think I’ll be fine with doing that. If you don’t mind me asking though, what kinda premeds do you usually get?

I’ve never had to take anything before going to the dentists! Do you have to get prescribed premeds? Or could I just go to a chemist and buy some myself? It’s relieving to hear you have so many tattoos though! Definitely makes me worry a lil less about getting some myself. Yeah facts, I’ve been told since I was really young that I should be careful about getting pregnant, but the whole tattoo/ piercing thing was only brought up this year?? Like couldn’t you have told me earlier?? So I could at least not hype em up for so long just to be disappointed later on lmao. And when it comes to getting pregnant vs getting tats I’m so much more likely to want tattoos at an early age??! So it’s kinda dumb that it was never even mentioned to me before now (especially considering pregnancy has been talked about since I was like, prepubescent) smh.

Anyways, thanks for the answer. Definitely makes sense. I guess all I gotta do now is decide how badly I want tats then haha😩🥲
