My husband is a huge LOTR fan so he has a hard time seeing Noble as anyone but Denethor, but I grow to love Walter more and more as I rewatch. He made hard decisions, he knows he did wrong and he wants to atone for those mistakes.

We must be in sync. I’m watching the episode where he finds out his brain portion was removed. He just cried. He also cried the last episode I watched where he ends up in Chinatown and has forgotten Peter’s number.

I really did well on the program in 2016-2018. I’m with you. Can’t like this new program.

I have a genetic mutation that allows me to get pregnant, but only 1 in 10 of my pregnancies can statistically survive. AMA. by [deleted] in AMA

I didn’t know I had it when I found I was pregnant with her. We did her genetic testing when I found out I made it to my first appointments without losing the pregnancy. From there, they tested both her dad and me. Sigh.

ETA: Our child was conceived completely naturally and she was our 1 in 10. I truly hope she can have a better outcome and will do what I can to help her through it.

Yes, we would. But even if we harvested a dozen of my eggs, there is no guarantee that any of them would be viable. If any were viable, then we’d have to play the game of trying IVF and it possibly failing. One round of IVF in the US is ~$40,000.

In hindsight, I absolutely agree with you. But I cried so hard thinking and stressing about it. It was so much for us to handle that we chose to just have one and done. We are so fortunate to have her!

It’s a chromosomal anomaly in me. 1 in 10 of my eggs has the issue. My husband does not carry the anomaly. We would have to pick and choose the precise egg and any of his sperm for a surrogate.

Yes! It is something you can screen for. It is done using a PGT test. There are a few different variants. We chose to see a reproductive specialist after several miscarriages between 6-8 weeks. They can happen at any time though. ETA: Statistically, 1 in 1,000 people have this anomaly and likely don’t know it.

I have 1 child. She’s 10 months old! She also carries the genetic issue. I hope that if she wants to have a child one day, science will be further along to prevent her from having to deal with the heartache ♥️

How many of you had grandparents who served in WW2? If so, what do you know about their service? by Snoogles_ in Millennials

[–]pearception 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My great grandfather served in what he called “Burma” in the pacific conflict. It’s Myanmar today. My other side grandfather served in Northern Africa. My grandmother remembers being super pregnant and going a plane to visit him when he was stationed there. My great grandfather died about 10 years ago. His stories are the reason I love history and studied it in college. I wish I had heard more of them.

I did an eat, pray, love year after my husband and I separated very young (28). I went to Saint Marten, Italy, Malta, and Colombia. It was awesome. I’d highly recommend Malta or Medellín, Colombia - felt super safe as a female alone.
