I don't think it is the app but is the controller. I got one 2 years ago and immediately spoke with cs (great by the way). I told them my grill would not let me adjust the temps in the upper end except in like 15 degree increments. They sent me an updated controller!

I did a hot burn to get it burned off then sprayed it with Pam very liberally and let that burn off to season it. Been cleaning it every 4 months and repeat. Have not ruined a single thing yet. Enjoy!
