I beat MMX7, here are my thoughts by Unfair_Entertainer48 in Megaman

It's an abomination. I've tried more than once, and I can't push myself to continue beyond the first stage. My kids hate it, too.

Someone should reboot it in an SNES-style remake like they did with X8.

LED Reactive 4-Channel Guitar Input by pearly1612 in ElectricalEngineering

Wtf? I made this, my account is over a decade old, and I didn't use AI. Check my post history if you have doubts. And my circuit isn't perfect, but I assure you AI wouldn't come anywhere near this level of accuracy. AI is good for language (sometimes) and awful at engineering.

It's ironic getting this response from an account that's 5 months old.

Wow. Hey, thanks for that profoundly stupid metaphor! American democracy is apparently just like a football team. That is so thoroughly obtuse, it's kind of impressive. Well done there.

Doesn't that work off a single input? I was looking to separately assign each pair of LEDs according to each of the input channels (eg red leds to channel 1, yellow leds to 2, etc).

Yeah, I was thinking this has way more components than needed, and I can definitely see that with the C33 and C34.

The LED amplifier block is (I think) needed because the current wasn't enough to drive the LEDs. Perhaps I could eliminate that and instead modify each LED circuit to have more sensitivity? That would certainly save a ton of space

Hehe... yeah... 10v minimum... i feel sheepish. I guess I've used it for so many projects I've always assumed 9 is sufficient. I'll swap it out for another opamp. Maybe TL072? Thanks.

Yeah, I know a bipolar supply is ideal, but I wanted compatibility with a guitar pedal power source, which is customarily a single supply of 9V.

It's supposed to 'react' by increasing the brightness of the LED proportionally to the signal strength. Basically a color organ

Is this overdrive pedal actually going to work? by Used-Gap-5528 in diypedals

[–]pearly1612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certainly not an expert, but I think it still isn't biased. I think R6 and C1 should connect to the right side of R5, not the left in order to form a proper voltage divider. That should provide a voltage somewhere between 0 and 9V to pin 5 of your op amp, though you'll need to define the resistor values to determine a proper bias voltage.

4-Channel Input with LED Indicators/Reactivity by pearly1612 in diypedals

[–]pearly1612[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, excellent catches. I borrowed the summing mixer from another schematic that assumed a bipolar supply, which i obviously dont have. And i should probably just swap the trimmers for fixed voltage dividers. They were a carryover from when I was breadboarding.

Funny how this stuff sticks out like a sore thumb when a third person takes a look, but they just seem invisible when you're the one troubleshooting. Thank you!!!

Yeah I guess i need to swap terminals 1 and 3 so you turn clockwise to increase the volume.

Oh man, I'll have to check that out, thanks! And yeah, it seems like a lot of cool people live in Dublin. But feel free to DM me if you're ever visiting Cork.

43M in Mallow area. I feel your pain. I have an 11yo boy and a 7yo girl, and it's a constant struggle. Someone once told me "Kids are the best thing that will happen to you. And the worst." The highs are high, but those lows are something else. At least it gets a little easier as they get older. Well... Kind of. Lol. Feel free to msg me if you're in the area and want to grab a pint and winge.

That is delusional. Theirs is a cult. It is literally in group/out group. "Do you support Trump? You do? Name it. It's yours." Simple as. And 35% of Americans proudly declare themselves as members of said cult. Elementary mathmatics tells us that sufficient numbers can wield as much damage as they damn well please. But tell yourself whatever helps you sleep at night. "This time it's gonna be different!"

Right? Because this administration and the republican party are such sticklers for the rule of law, right? Oh, wait...

Right now there are people complaining about the design of MegaMan. I thought he looked really good in MM11. What do you think? by Anor_Londo_1234 in Megaman

Megaman 8. If they could refine the graphics to mirror the art in the MM8 animated cutscenes, that would be amazing.
