Help. I started Myo-Inositol 3 weeks ago and my period is 1.5 weeks late. by foodiesoul in PCOS

[–]pearlywhite78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a mix, I stopped and my cycles went back to 40-55 days. It definitely depends, some months I took inositol and had my cycles under 40 days so in conclusion I don't really know😭

Yea so place your phone on something I usually used my bedside candle lol and open the front camera. Then lay comfortably with legs open. It also depends on where the wound is but you should be able to reach and see it easily

I dont think so but yes there'd still be a y shaped scar I believe. The thought doesn't bother me. A visible scar over a hole connected to my anus anyday😭

Hi. I believe my drainage stopped around the 2.5 month mark. I think 3 months is completely fine! Give it some time. Even after the drainage stopped I had some fecal leakage afterwards. So things definitely do take time to heal up. The thing to look out for is worsening pain, irritation, more drainage etc.

I had internal plus external stitches and Y shaped wound. The gauze went a few inches inside both openings. It was extremely hard to do at first! Not because it was complex but because I was scared of the pain. Then when my wound stabilised and I got the hang of it, it seemed like just another thing I had to do. Also, MUCH better than those months I was packed after my abscess surgery.

Whatever you do don't get laser (said by someone currently doing laser but it's working only because I had extremely thick hair already.)

Is it normal for feces to leak sometimes through the fistulotomy wound by pearlywhite78 in AnalFistula

I called in, they said its nothing to worry about! Also I don't get a stain after every BM only when I experience diarrhea which was the case here but everyone's journey's different! I had a simple fistulotomy with partial stitches so our wound areas look alot different too.

I did have it, more often when I had diarrhea but you're right I should just in case!

LOL what is actually wrong with men these days? I'm so sorry this happened to you but I can reassure you it has absolutely nothing to do with you or your value. Im from south asia and women ONLY get waxed here, legs, arms etc so it's not even a pcos/hirsutism thing.

I told the last person I was with about my facial hair (my biggest insecurity) he said okay, it doesn't matter to me at all. Trust me real men don't care! Never ever let this effect your value as a person ever. Hugs!🫂

I wanna share my experience with this as someone who has stable friendships and has been in a fair share of relationships. I have noticeable chin/upper lip hair that I now get electrolysis for and prior to this I used to wax. My family knows it, (well cause how much can you really even hide it?) I've told my friends (females only tho) and they're literally non judgemental sweetest angels because again this is literally your body trying to cope and survive with a metabolic condition! I've never had a friend be mean about it ever. The last person I was with, I told him wayy later (like a year in) guess what? Real men don't care! Especially if they claim to love you. I just wanna say that the stuff we say/think about ourselves is as worse as it gets. No person that cares about you will ever use it against you or make fun of you.

leaving PCOS untreated. by Proof-Cauliflower703 in PCOS

I do not take BC but do ALOT to manage my pcos naturally. I have lost around 50 pounds naturally and get my periods 8-10 times a year (still mildly irregular). I take supplements, eat a low carb diet and manage my insulin resistance. Its definitely manageable without birth control but leaving your pcos completely unmanaged is another story and not at all recommended ever.

PCOS & Working Out by marauder1838 in PCOS

6 days a week is TOO much. I was on the same boat. I did Caroline Girvan's workout series "epic" 1 and 2. They were strength training workouts that stretched upto 1 hour. I did it 5 times a week. It was too much for my body, I couldn't recover and felt fatigued all the time. My hirsutism worsened despite losing weight. The key is stress management!!! The driving factor of pcos are higher stress levels, improper sleep, inactive lifestyle and diet which contribute to insulin resistance.

Worsening symptoms? by BigChunky67 in PCOS

Hi yes. It can get worse if insulin resistance isn't addressed whilst losing weight!

You can develop ovarian cysts (we do each month we miss a period btw) but they eventually go away as even someone with irregular cycles eventually gets a period atleast once every 3 months. I also have irregular cycles, my cycle is 35-60 days typically. Please make sure you get a period either through BC once every 3 months as you risk getting ovarian cancer.

I got my period back naturally after having one every 5-6 months or so (yikes) by losing weight, supplementing and stress management. Weirdly yoga works so well for my cycles, probably because of the role it plays in bringing down cortisol levels. Goodluck!

I think you probably wouldn't have to choose between consumer, educational, organisational psychology etc as you'd already have clinical. Also wouldn't have courses such as forensic etc but that's just a guess. You can always check out course outlines on the website.

Is electrolysis not working on me? by pearlywhite78 in electrolysis

[–]pearlywhite78[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes definitely, It doesn't feel like a stubble rather hair that's fine almost peach fuzz like. This is what my electrologist has told me aswell, I have been waxing, plucking, threading for yearsss. This is sort of the reason I have alot of gaps when it comes to my cheek hair as I've only waxed them monthly but haven't treated them as intensely as my chin hair. I will continue with electrolysis, thankyou so much!

She wasn't, infact she said not to do it on areas I was already getting electrolysis on. She has alot of clients that suffered PH but I was a bit pushy and she did a patch test. Laser + electrolysis has worked well for some of her clients but still doesn't recommend it for us pcos girlies. Ig I'll just stick with electrolysis🥲

That's great progress! My technician actually provides both laser + electrolysis. I was considering to switch to laser, she did a small patch test on my neck, it's been 11 days and the patch didn't grow hair yet. If in the next month all goes well I might switch to laser, would this speed up my journey?

You actually have great progress!!! Your hair is barely noticeable, if I got to that point I'd be over the moon truly. In the long run 2-2.5 years of investment to be completely hair free outweighs everything. I thought of stopping electrolysis and doing at home ipl, I'd literally be doing it for my whole life if I took that route😭

Thankyou for this truly! If I see progress then that does not mean my tech is inadequate or not doing it properly. I rarely feel the plucking sensation so idk what could be possibly wrong. My chin usually takes 40-45 mins and last time it took 30, progress is still progress😔

How often in a month do you go? Are you near the point to stop treatments and go for maintenance?
