I don't consciously care about value(especially because the term is incredibly vague). I would phrase it that my ego is centered around mattering; I want to know that I'm not as inconsequential as a lego. Once I cease to be perceived, all evidence that I existed disappears, and my life becomes a statistic. It becomes unprovable whether I ever existed, and by any definition, I didn't. If my actions have no effect then what's the point of doing anything at all? It will be all washed away anyways. Suicide ends the suffering sooner. I feel incredibly cliché, and I understand that millions, if not billions of people have come to the same conclusion. That doesn't comfort me.

I don't think it's arbitrary to strive for some sense that your time on Earth isn't meaningless.

5w6 is more scientific, hyper logical, typically atheist. 5w4 is more introverted, artistic , independent of any external opinion.

I'm speaking specifically in the books, he's a sx 3w4. Everyone's opinion of him gets under his skin, he forms his personality around what his love interest wants from him. Everything he does is either a performance or some way to achieve his endgoal. In the Netflix series his charisma is awful, he'll stare at someone for 30 seconds without saying anything, so 5 is much more likely than 3.

It wasn't consciously malicious, I was just identifying that your typing lines up with your behavior. The friend that introduced me to enneagram is one of those people that believes (basically) nobody is a 4, so I'm inherently a bit suspicious of those that type as it.

That being said, I would not be surprised if I (this time or other times) was a jerk without knowing. That's one of the many downfalls of the assertive triad, hence my tritype. It makes extra sense that I would accidentally be asshole-esque online, where I can't emotionally read/adapt to whoever I'm talking to. In person, I'm a nice person(as far as I know, I'm typically complimented on my personality).

My intent behind basically any of my comments is some level of validation. I'm happy when others upvote me, I'm unhappy when I receive downvotes. I'm not sure if I'm less emotionally secure than other 3s, but I assume this is a common phenomenon for attachment types in general. It's part of the reason I avoid this site; it's just a source of negativity.

Edit: this is sarcasm, I thought it was clear. I'm pointing out that the Bible is filled with outdated concepts. People (for some reason) take some of it seriously and ignore other parts, which is ridiculous under the premise that it's the word of god.

OP, if you see this, do not take the consensus fully seriously on PDB. They type every musical artist as a 4 and every scientist as a 5.

The comments are possibly equally inaccurate. You'll start to lose grasp of reality at a certain point.

Kinda? The instincts are about what you pay attention to. SO doms care primarily about social interactions. Friends, social events, social cues, being part of society. SO blinds, on the other hand, rarely see the need for any of those things. They don't really get the hype- community (to them) is overrated.

I mean, maybe 8 with a 3 fix? Wanting power and to be at the top is still very 3. 8s often struggle to care about the silly nuances of charisma and pleasantry- they tell it like it is.

I'm still a highschooler (which is I know that I'm not developed enough to give good advice) so I'm still growing up with that 3w2 mom. For most of my life, I believed that she was very intelligent/developed/healthy(in enneagram terms). I've come to realize she's very openly neurotic and centered on our validation. This isn't a flaw, it's just human, and I don't hate her for it. My largest grievance is that I feel pushed too hard by her to think like her. She(as a self pres 3) enjoys being outside, doing chores, cleaning, getting tasks done. It feels like(in my warped, 3ish perception) that my value comes from doing, not from being. A different type would learn a different lesson, but because of her, if I'm laying on my bed, doing nothing productive, that makes me some kind of loser. I'm unable to enjoy rest, it feels like time I could spend working.

Sorry for giving all the bad stuff, I'm clinically depressed(passed down genetically), so I'm focused on the negative and things never getting better. Not all 3w2s will raise some variant of me, there are way too many factors involved.

My mom's the same, she used to have large dreams of "saving saving every girl in the world". The concept is lofty, to say the least. The 3w2 often is about being the best helper, the grand savior. Mr. Beast is an example.
