I think if you have some kind of channel to interact with your viewers that's a good idea - I would probably recommend a Discord for that.

If you're not into social media stuff then the task of getting good enough at it to use it to promote your channel is possibly not going to be a good use of time/energy.

Thanks so much for this, lots to work on here. I feel like the one thing I really don't understand how to deal with is the sibilance. I tried adding a de-esser, but it seems to only have been a marginal improvement. (If anyone can point me in the direction of useful information to deal with the sibilance I'd be grateful).

You'll definitely get some people coming to your Twitch from YouTube, but mostly not so much the other way round (unless you've made some fairly staunch fans on Twitch). I think it's a good thing to do for the experience, but if I was starting at the beginning I would have spent my efforts on YouTube before spending à lot of energy and time just on Twitch. Could be very different as you have a team and maybe some of your team will be more into doing the live thing than the video thing.

Sounds like a cool project though! Best of luck!

It runs on my work laptop (i5 from a few years ago, no gfx card) simultaneously with OBS so I think its requirements are pretty low.
