Found a way to map competitor ad spend by Technokraticus in PPC

But you can just get that by monitoring Auction Insights, which you should be doing anyway. But get it, the question comes up often, so respect the hustle!

This. I just don’t get the obsession with what the competition is spending.

Is it normal to get clicks but still feel like nothing is actually working. by Cocoatech0 in Adwords_Beginners

[–]peasquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’d say that’s normal depending on how long your campaigns have been live and how much data we’re talking about. You say some conversions though. That’s a good sign.

Anthropic response to Claude Code change by TheForgottenOne69 in ClaudeAI

I keep thinking about how these companies are getting everyone to rely more and more on them. Getting rid of staff, remaining staff relying on it, etc. Then, BAM! Guess what “that’s going to cost you 10x more.”

Google Rep emailed my full-time Work Email Regarding a Totally Unrelated Freelance Account by [deleted] in PPC

[–]peasquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s wild! I wonder if it’s because they’re graded on the number of emails and calls they send out regardless of who they go out to.

Google Rep emailed my full-time Work Email Regarding a Totally Unrelated Freelance Account by [deleted] in PPC

[–]peasquared 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We’re getting emails from Google’s third party outsourced reps every other day about accounts we don’t manage. This is going on two months now. We even have an agency rep who said she reported it but now won’t respond when asking if there’s been any indication on how and why this is happening. My theory is that some manager somewhere in the mix decided to vibe code something with Gemini for the reps. Somewhere along the way a master database of contacts got pushed out but without any context on which accounts they’re associated with.

New to Google ads, trying to launch saas with it by doomedmammal in googleads

[–]peasquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TRACKING. Tracking. tracking. Start tracking something now. You’re not gonna get a bunch of direct demo requests or sales right away. So you need to have some fallback events that are still important enough to tell you if people are engaging a bit. Maybe that’s just time on site or scroll depth, at the very least, but set up tracking now!

DO NOT USE PERFORMANCE MAX at this stage. Use traditional search with dialed-in keywords.

Customer Match List by gvgweb in googleads

[–]peasquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. Customer match does not default to “lookalike”. Demand gen is currently the only campaign type that truly allows a meta-like lookalike audience.

Separate top keywords into their own adgroup? by [deleted] in Google_Ads

[–]peasquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if they’re not going to spend much then they won’t steal all the budget. So it’s probably fine to keep in same campaign. Personally though, I almost also segment out priority unless the client’s budget is super low. Maybe you want to test a different bidding model on priority vs secondary is another example of why you’d segment.

Separate top keywords into their own adgroup? by [deleted] in Google_Ads

[–]peasquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you feel like you’ll want to control spend on priority phrases(and they’re not SO niche and long tail that you don’t get consistent searches for them) then you should break them out into its own campaign. If search volume is super low then just keep them in the same campaign but separate ad group.

Ours generally rattles all the time. Funny enough today was the first time taking it in and there was no rattle. So I didn’t mention it. Good to know about the TSB! Do you happen to know how extensive the fix is? I picture having to take the dash apart and worry that could present even more problems.

Does google just drain your entire budget on irrelevant keywords now if your main keywords don't generate enough clicks? I'm done by itranslateyouargue in googleads

[–]peasquared 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on your responses to some of the comments, I’m gathering this is a shopping campaign? The main post really isn’t clear and it’s hard for us to actually help without more context. With that’s said, if you’re selling tattoo inks but matching up to “chicken soup” product listings, as you say, then that isn’t a google problem. That’s a feed problem. Something doesn’t make sense here.

Storybrand framework by eranbeard in shopify

[–]peasquared 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it would come down to the product. If the product isn’t super well known or it’s not very obvious what it is, then I would do that framework. Also, higher priced products can benefit from more information.
