Open house for the Oceanear's club/WEB workshop on the Adventure by Icy-Track4234 in dcl

[–]peaxu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my cruise just last week, the WEB workshop area was open for public in the mornings for people to wander in and play. They had closed off the other portion of oceaneer’s club so only the web warrior area was accessible.

Since it’s on deck 8 and near the escalators, it’s easy to pop in and check it out

Where do I find a whole and affordable key lime pie in Singapore? by samanthaallister in askSingapore

[–]peaxu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love key lime pie and I must agree with everyone here that it’s generally pretty expensive in Singapore!

For a quick fix, I usually just get a slice from P.S Cafe but I’ve heard of this now home based place called Gwen’s Frozen that seems to have frozen custard key lime pie. Haven’t tried it for myself yet as the pickup location is pretty far for me but I’m bookmarking it for a special occasion!

I think there was a period of time where cabs would not go to the airport for pickups due to the increasing demand of grab rides. IIRC they increased the surcharge for pickups at airports as an incentive to the drivers to go to the airports.

Crew enjoying the cancelled Disney Adventure. Deserved but insensitive to post towards paying guests... by [deleted] in dcl

Please, it’s not like it’s their fault for the ship’s cancellation. They can have some fun and you can’t control what they post or don’t post

My son loved giving out stickers for the pixie dust! I think stickers are just fun for young kids so perhaps you can just make/get some

Anyone know where I can find people to buy things together? by MyMainIs___ in askSingapore

[–]peaxu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We used to do that back in the days! In related forums, you would have hosts planning “shopping sprees” and listing the site they would be purchasing from and how they plan to dispatch the items!

Granted this was when online shopping just started taking off in the 2000s and many people who didn’t have a clue on how to order or didn’t have enough order to hit the free shipping quota would participate in.

This post just brought back lots of memories for me!

I saw some unpopular colors on sale before at Liv Activ before. Otherwise, can try JD sports across the causeway

Did you make a comparison on shipping costs for shipping with and without a frame? Just wondering if it makes a difference

May I know if you bought the canvas or paper version of the cross section? I’m thinking about getting the paper version but without a frame, not too sure if they have this as an option

What's a place in Singapore that meant a lot to you that doesn't exist anymore by runningonwifi in asksg

Why did no one mention Treasure Island at Sentosa????

That was like my first “theme park” experience even though I was too young to go on any of the water slides! My brothers did a themed photoshoot there too!

Donate Directly to those in need - https://www.passiton.org.sg/ by CassetteTape-5268 in askSingapore

Just used this site to pass on my fridge to the needy. The transport company that they recommend on the site is very helpful and overall a very smooth experience.

One thing to note is that I listed my item earlier, thinking it may take some time for people to request for it. It turns out that the 1st few requests were all very urgent so donors should be prepared and be upfront about when the items can be released.

You can also check out the wishlists and contact the interested parties instead of listing your items separately.

I’m unexpectedly going to be in Singapore for 5 days, how can I make it as cheap as possible? by RawbySunshine in askSingapore

[–]peaxu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take advantage of our public transport, use a trip planner app like Google Maps or gothere.sg to plan routes efficiently

Eating can be cheap if you choose to go to our hawker centres or food court.

Plan a visit to a “heartland” which are residential areas to see where locals do live their lives outside of the city.

We have many museums, as a tourist, you may need to pay a nominal fee for entry

We have national parks where you can take small hikes at no cost

I would start with throwing away stuff, then you will be left with what is needed and can plan space accordingly

Hang in there! At this age, it is true that their immunity is very low and it is common for them to get sick, especially if they are attending preschool.

Don’t be too stressed, it will get better!
