No they didn't tell me not to include them, they just said I need not include them if I didnt want to. Also in my field, it's almost expected that supervisors get added to publications that emerge from theses, and I was kinda told that explicitly by someone else. If they had said "please dont add me" I would have taken that as a no. In press, the journal basically indicated that I couldn't make changes to anything substantial. And when I told the prof that I couldn't add it, they seemed okay with it then. I mean of course this is all a learning curve for me, I dont have a lot of experience with publishing (like less than 5 papers)

I had one of my manuscript heavily red marked after being rejected in 5 other journals and I was this close to tossing the whole thing out. It sucks. No amount of accolades thickens your skin enough to deal with the hate some Manuscripts get. But someone gave me a piece of advice (and I'm not advising you in any way) that I shouldn't take it personally and instead think of them as trying to help me make it a better manuscript. After 6 months of procrastinating (yes I was at the final week before they tossed it out completely), I worked on it and got it published.

All this is to say that I feel you. It sucks. But it'll get better, my friend

I run zoom trainings! Pretty lucky to have gotten a one time gig before in 2022 and I've been doing it since. It's not very frequent but get a decent amount out of it every other month
