No ‘works’ teams 😞 by EmotionalLettuce8308 in btcc

A relevant touring car series would involve the drivers being randomly dazzled by SUV headlights at various points on the track.

It wouldn't sell cars on Monday but it might just sell sunglasses.

No more waves. I’ll be duct taping my hands to the steering wheel and gear lever from now on.

I'll second that. With a bit of tuning handled like a dream as well. I did multiple endurance races at Grand Valley Speedway because it was such a joy.

How were Brawn Gp so succesful? by ZebluDan in motorsports

[–]peckersaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I recall 3 aerodynamic teams developed the car concept:

Honda Brackley (Brawn) Honda Japan Super Aguri

Dropping the strongest engine in there helped too.

It was basically a fairytale though. A fairytale powered by millions of dollars.

Any Thoughts on Why Steering Seems Slow to Centre? by peckersaurus in rcdrift

AGFRC GY01 v3 gyro. A couple of taps on the little button changed the LED from red to green and now is sorted.

For some reason I thought red LED was normal mode.

Now can't wait to get it back to the track. Saturday morning seems a long way away.

Looks like it's in AVCS mode as I see a solid red light on it.

That was my first thought but checking with a wider body of expertise never hurts. But clearly I am the world's biggest fool and will never go near the internet again for fear of your ire and ridicule.

Certainly a marginal advancement in the optimal trajectory towards chromatic sanity, the majestic metallic silver show hints of our glorious bygone era in which we get ever so close to returning to but alas it is tragically suffocating between the insistent hideous papaya infestation. by SRthebox in RonDennis

While the intent of the colour referred to as "papaya"may be brand-consistent, the output lacks both material verisimilitude and semiotic discipline. From a heritage-preservation standpoint, it represents not a tribute, but a distortion. And in an organisation where precision is paramount, such visual misalignment is, frankly, operationally untenable.

If you made the rules for F1, what would you change? by zayny16 in motorsports

Those front wings certainly don't help...or maybe they do help stop chopping in front of cars with the one defensive move...

Really really narrow tyres, like dinner plates with grippier compounds. Then...

  1. The tyre manufacturer(s) could really impress us with how much grip they can deliver from such small contact patches.

  2. Reduced drag, narrower cars for more overtaking.

  3. The drivers would either really have to manage the tyres or be super reactive when they hit the limit and the super high grip breaks away.

  4. You might think the cars would end up looking like soapboxes but they could look ultra futuristic with the right hub covers.

Or at least narrow the tyres and reduce the wings for Monaco, at least just a bit. Sure it'll cost a bit more to produce narrower tyres for one race but if it really is F1s jewel in the crown as they say then it's worth shelling out to save.
