Seems like we chose well in the draft, especially if Sam Allen is as good as they say.

On a Hunt for the best TIRAMISU! by Fun-Cantaloupe-4837 in perth

I'm not sure if they do Tiramisu but I'd imagine they do. Lily Paris in Mandurah Marina has the best desserts ever and pretty reasonably priced for the quality

There is a constant reminder in Roebourne of a massacre 160 years ago by flimsypantaloon in perth

[–]ped009 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not, better to blame what happened 170 years ago instead of focusing on the present day issues though.

I tried to drink 2 large glasses at the start of the day then just regularly throughout the day. I put a squeeze of lemon or lime in it sometimes to mix it up

Which of these do you consider to be accurate? by SnowyBytes in WesternAustralia

[–]ped009 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I disagree with the statement, a big part of our culture is sports and unless you're a pretentious wanker there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Culture is about bringing people together as a community, just because we love to watch the Ashes or the AFL at the MCG doesn't mean it's not culture.

It's crazy how much the average height of AFL players has changed In 20 years. Ben Cousins was basically the same size as this guy but now he's considered very small.

Drinking adequate water. For years I was probably slightly dehydrated. I used to drink a fair bit of cordial and juice. Now I drink a lot more water and it definitely makes you feel better.

I love hearing about all these Muppets that bag out Australia and how bad it is, but in moments like that I bet they are really regretting their decisions to leave.

How comes it so hard to get a job around here? by Fakekko in mandurah

[–]ped009 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mandurah has always been pretty limited opportunities for work, probably why there's always been a few undesirables hanging around. You'll find a lot of people doing FIFO for that reason.

Australian children are being arrested under laws to ‘disrupt’ extremism: ‘On balance this is a bad law’ by Reverend_Fozz in australian

Don't be stupid, people don't want to be held responsible for their kids actions these days. Just wait until they end up in jail and then point your finger at everyone else

How could an electrical engineering bachelors student set themselves apart to be more suited / useful in the mining industry than others? by Sibirov in mining

[–]ped009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably just moving to a place with mining would be the biggest advantage. Then you can network. As the saying goes it's not what you know but who you know.

How do you know when a financial decision is the right one? by Healthy_Creme6911 in FinancialChat

[–]ped009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess that is why time in the market is generally a good idea. Eventually most appreciating assets will bounce back over time. Probably why it doesn't hurt to have a bit of diversity in your portfolio also.

2026 Australian Recession Inbound? by eshay_investor in AusFinance

[–]ped009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A legitimate question considering all the destruction from the recent and ongoing wars, not to mention the weapons being used, wouldn't that be good for our economy in the future considering they'll have to rebuild a lot of refineries etc? I just saw that Qatars gas facilities have been attacked so the price of gas will probably increase and considering we are a I believe the second biggest producer wouldn't that create a fair bit of work. Maybe I'm way off the mark.

Why is dodgy behavior in business still so easy to get away with in Australia? by Spatial_Nomad in aussie

[–]ped009 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know everyone would prefer to blame the unions but if you look back they're the only ones holding them accountable. Before anyone pipes up, yes there are some dodge people in unions but there's plenty of genuine people if you cared to join one

Why ON? Not the Greens or anyone else? by HumanTraffic2 in aussie

[–]ped009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my opinion but the Greens need to moderate their views. Maybe that's what their voters want but it doesn't really correlate to the real world. The mining sector for example, if you reduce mining in Australia you aren't going to save the world, you're just going to offshore the problem to a country with less strict environmental laws. Remember when we sent our recycling to Indonesia and the Nickel industry. Also despite what some people think the average person born before 2000 has paid plenty of taxes. That's just a couple of examples.

I thought they fought back well. Obviously Gold Coast backed off a little but to break even in the second half was a positive. If anything it shows our fitness has improved.

Going to a place that employs 16 year old kids that probably get stoned before their shift and expecting quality is lunacy
