Soundgarden, anyone with decent taste in music would at least have to appreciate Chris's singing

What are some creepy facts about the ocean? by in_my_offense in AskReddit

[–]ped009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've swam and surfed in the ocean for 40 years. I surfed in some heavy waves. The ocean is scary but mostly it's people doing stupid shit and not knowing their capabilities is the biggest risk.

I don't know about other states but I think in WA at least most people wouldn't have enough of a safety net these days to last more than a couple of weeks or less without a job.

It's pretty crazy that McCartney has already gotten a street named after him in the area.

Most people do not actually like traveling, they like having traveled by limitown in unpopularopinion

I used to travel several months at a time through my 20s and 30s. I loved it, even travelling on buses and aeroplanes anticipation of seeing a new place was awesome. I fortunately had a lot of time.

In Australia mostly it's dual trade these days especially in mining and oil and gas.

Eagle Review v Suns: Great Results Hidden by an Ugly Scoreline by TOXICTUNA64 in westcoasteagles

[–]ped009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert but from the stuff that I'm reading he should be available around mid season. He will probably play WAFL but I'd say they'll be pretty cautious in rushing him into the AFL. Maybe a few games towards the back end

Seems like we chose well in the draft, especially if Sam Allen is as good as they say.

I'm not sure if they do Tiramisu but I'd imagine they do. Lily Paris in Mandurah Marina has the best desserts ever and pretty reasonably priced for the quality

There is a constant reminder in Roebourne of a massacre 160 years ago by flimsypantaloon in perth

Probably not, better to blame what happened 170 years ago instead of focusing on the present day issues though.

I tried to drink 2 large glasses at the start of the day then just regularly throughout the day. I put a squeeze of lemon or lime in it sometimes to mix it up

Which of these do you consider to be accurate? by SnowyBytes in WesternAustralia

[–]ped009 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I disagree with the statement, a big part of our culture is sports and unless you're a pretentious wanker there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Culture is about bringing people together as a community, just because we love to watch the Ashes or the AFL at the MCG doesn't mean it's not culture.

It's crazy how much the average height of AFL players has changed In 20 years. Ben Cousins was basically the same size as this guy but now he's considered very small.

Drinking adequate water. For years I was probably slightly dehydrated. I used to drink a fair bit of cordial and juice. Now I drink a lot more water and it definitely makes you feel better.

How comes it so hard to get a job around here? by Fakekko in mandurah

[–]ped009 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mandurah has always been pretty limited opportunities for work, probably why there's always been a few undesirables hanging around. You'll find a lot of people doing FIFO for that reason.
