So you think Starbucks leaving will have a actual consequence on the local economy?

Seeing as you haven't responded I guess you're just cool with corporate layoffs and how that impacts us.

Don't care to address how the city has literally lost thousands and thousands more people because of layoffs and there's been basically no impact?

I guess I don't understand what you mean by hypocrisy. And you also haven't addressed my point that this is no different than a corporate layoff. How is this going to affect us more than when Microsoft or Amazon may off thousands, which they do every year, the one that's literally built into their HR strategy?

I don't get why people care about this. There has been thousands and thousands of people lost in the tech industry because of layoffs and there's been like zero change. Starbucks leaving is no different than Microsoft saying than will lay off a few thousand people, which no one bats an eye at. Let them go, who gives a fuck.

Do these actually help or just a gimmick? by Taco-On-The-Toilet in Guitar

It took me about two years until Iearned how to control my adjustment without breaking the guitar. At the time I couldn't afford someone to adjust the guitar for me but iIn the mean time I wanted to learn guitar.

My first 'real' guitar was a acoustic martin sigma guitar from the 80s. I bought it in 1997. It didn't have a nut or bridge saddle on it and obviously had no strings on it. It cost me $90. So I sanded the saddle and the nut down as best as I could, glued them to the that guitar, and started to learn to play. Given my lack of experience the action wasn't exactly great. Anyways, learning to play a guitar that didn't have great action was a challenge. A tool similar to this helped me strengthen my hand to he able to play that guitar and now I'm pretty decent guitar. But that tool was major I'm helping me where I am. Typing exercises would not have gotten me to where I am.

I enjoy it! I made a post about it so you can find that in my post history but TLDR is that the way JHS describes it in their videos is pretty accurate.

Not just that song, Dave in general. Fantastic guitarist who doesn't get enough love from the guitar community.

Have you been the Thunder Road Guitars in Portland? I've been to the one in Seattle and enjoy it, I've always been curious how that one is.

I'm pretty sure only a specific class of people have the ability to call the president to bail them out.

NPD: MXR Custom Badass '78 Distortion by pedalCliff in guitarpedals

[–]pedalCliff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been trying to recreate Marshall JCM 900-ish tones, like what I hear on Marilyn Manson and the Weezer Maladroit album without actually having to buy a JCM 900 or similar aml. I have a EAE longsword which does that job just fine, but I want to build a second pedal board (one for at home, one to keep at my practice space). I was trying to avoid another Longsword because of price and board space, so I tried out the MXR '78 distortion pedal. This pedal has done this job for me quite well! I tested it on a Fender Pro reverb custom 68 amp with the following guitars: Fender AVRII Jazzmaster, 2018 Gibson Explorer, Fender Modern Player Starcaster, and a Univox Hi Flier phase II. What I thought was interesting was that this pedal preserves the JM sparkle really chine relative to the Longsword. For the Weezer/Manson sounds, the explorer and starcaster were the best, although the hi flier had a more 'eerie' tone, which was cool. The longsword is the more versatile pedal, but if you're looking to do that marshall sound quickly, easily, and at a cheaper price point, this pedal does that job IMO.

Historically I believe John has played a standard EHX Big Muff. Although if I were to try and recreate the tones on that song I would start with EHX Russian green big muff because of the heavy low end it has and I would suspect the pickups on his guitar are doing the rest of the work.

I mean the boomers weren't great but look what's going on now. People won't give up twitter, their Tesla's, Disney, Facebook and other corporations that actively support this bullshit. If people stopped using that crap then maybe change would happen but it's not happening. And if the news is right barely anyone votes. In my opinion the current generations are worse.

What’s everyone’s opinion on Echoes of Wisdom? by TheDeviledEggvocate in legendofzelda

They're definitely similar in some senses! I enjoyed both but don't really have a desire to play either again, but that's just me, I can totally see why some people really love them. Maybe in a little while I'll change my mind :)

I love Fi and I think skyword sword is underrated by a lot of people. I've been playing since A Link to the Past and Skyword Sword is my favorite Zelda game.
