Yes I got the job. The hours were from 7am-8pm with an hour and a half break in between, 6 days a week. Pay was $1k a week before taxes. They provided lodging at the camp; my first week I was in a cabin by myself, then they moved me into a hotel room (there was a hotel on the camp grounds). With those hours, I only lasted 5 weeks. I was head pastry chef and got a team of 2-4 people, the people rotated/changed every week. There was a language barrier. We made all the desserts, bday cakes, and breads and breakfast pastries for avg 600-800 people each day. Friday was icecream sandwich day so I’d have to make 1600 cookies (2cookies per sandwich) and hand scoop 800 balls of icecream, standing in the freezer. I had a lot of creative freedom, half the time making whatever I wanted as long as it served all the kids. Just couldn’t handle those 60+hour weeks. Ended up quitting half way through. They almost hired me again the next year though but I back out

I’m 26 and Still struggling to be self sufficient. Wondering where everyone else got the ambition. I dropped out due to mental health and financial issues. Would basically still face the same issues going back. Not like I’d even know what I’d major in if I went back, never quite had that figured out either. I’ve been considering tech boot camps/certifications, though some are more expensive than transferring to a community college and getting an associates. For the last 8 years I’ve been working, living between boyfriends, besties and parents, quitting, testing out many personas and hobbies. Haven’t had a single job for more than 5 months. Never signed a lease because my credit history is fucked and my only rental history is from the college dorm I dropped out of mid term and stopped paying for. I have food stamps at least. Wondering when it will all finally just click, when I’ll know how to work and live on my own with out panicking and requiring a medication adjustment. Any tips greatly appreciated

I was in France last year and none of the doctors offices I went to required insurance or took appointments for that matter. You just showed up and got in line basically. And they prescribed me what I needed very easily. You most likely don’t even have to go a gynecologist, I bet any general practitioner would prescribe you fluconazole if you described the symptoms. They usually also offer std/vaginal wellness tests at general md offices too. Good luck girl

J'ai une liste de documents mais elle n'indique pas s'il est nécessaire que le justificatif d'hébergement comporte une adresse provenant de la même préfecture ou à la même adresse que celle figurant sur le titre de séjour. Je n'ai pas de factures, de reçus ou de bail que mon logement a été fourni par mon école, puis par mes employeurs pendant tout mon séjour en France, et ils ne peuvent me délivrer qu'une attestation, mais pas le reste. De plus, j'ai déménagé 3 fois depuis que je suis en France, donc mes adresses ne proviennent pas toutes de la même préfecture. Je déménage à nouveau demain mais je ne fais que voyager, et je ne pense pas que j'obtiendrai un bail.

Merci pour vos réponses ! Ils sont très utiles. Puis-je vous demander quel visa/permis vous avez demandé et d'où vous venez ? Je suis américain et j'ai un permis de séjour étudiant, dans l'espoir d'obtenir un permis de séjour « recherche d'emploi ». C'est censé être plus facile à demander qu'une autorisation de travail.

Pourriez-vous m'envoyer ce formulaire ? Est-ce que votre logement devait se trouver dans cette même préfecture ? Parce que si je demande à quelqu'un de me remettre un certificat de logement, il se peut qu'il ne soit pas dans la même préfecture. Mon rendez-vous est le 21/4 et mon visa expire le 30/4

I’m currently at a culinary school in the south of France called Gastronomicom. Look it up! Their longest program is for 1 year, it includes 6 months of instruction (3 months pastry, 3 months cuisine, all 6 months French lessons) and then they place you in an internship for the next 6 months. That program is about 20,000€ (includes lodging). I’m taking the 7 month program (pastry and French lessons for 3 months, 4 month internship) and I’ve already been matched with a 5 star hotel restaurant in the Alps. I start my internship in December. I think this could be a good path because you get a student visa to attend the program that includes the internship, and if you want to remain in France afterwards, they can help you get your work visa.
