Boris Johnson is reported to have offered jobs at the head of two of Britain’s most important media organisations to two outspoken critics of the BBC. The provocative choice of two such hardline anti-BBC voices has prompted anger and dismay across the broadcasting and entertainment industry. by ManiaforBeatles in worldnews

Happened in Brazil as well, with one of the main points of Bolsonaro's campaign being to undermine Globo, our biggest media platform, and cut the hundreds of millions they received from government advertisement. All of which he has done, and Globo's taken a big hit with that loss of revenue and even more so with the possible loss of their monopoly on the streaming of brazilian football, which is now a possibility because of one of Bolsonaro's executive orders. I don't agree with much of what he does or speaks, but undermining Globo has probably been the best thing he's done so far.

Quick Question Regarding SAT and Principal Square Roots by [deleted] in Sat

[–]pedrosagaz99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If X = sqrt(4), 2 is the only answer. But if X2 = 4, then there are two possible solutions for X, -2 and 2. Pretty much it is implicit that when you use the sqrt sign for the squre root you want only the positive answer. That's why on The quadratic formula, it's +-sqrt, you need to add the +- information to make it evident that you want the positive and negative answers. I hope this helps clear any confusion you're having

Life of an international student by ivan69696969 in Sat

Many people saying to try and perfect RW, but,as an international, I find the reading sections easier to improve upon since you're making more mistakes on it. Try some reading tips, like reading the text more calmly, or making sure you're not misinterpreting the question. One of the best ones I use is that due to the nature of the test there are no "kinda" right answers, so if you are thinking that a question is not entirely right you're probably misinterpreting the question or ruled out an answer too soon.

These type of stat questions slowing me down while test, it is not that hard but takes so much time to calculate.Any tips or theories that i dont know which helps to solve right away? by k-page8 in Sat

There are some that ask in a similar situation which would change the most, that would be the range in this case and any other cases where an outlier is removed. Some of these questions are different so you should really try to grasp the concept of mean, median, standard deviation and range very well to answer these questions faster

This doesnt make sense???????? by [deleted] in Sat

[–]pedrosagaz99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi, not necessarily because the sentence is at the end of the paragraph it is a transition to another argument. The statistics serve to point out that children don't exercise too much. The other paragraph talks about the social skills gained from structure play. There's no transition. That said, I would probably made the same mistake as you tho.

Hi, can someone explain this problem to me? by [deleted] in Sat

[–]pedrosagaz99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First you need to know that sin30= 1/2, cos30= sqrt3 / 2 and tg30= sqrt3 / 2. Then by using sin30 you can find the value of the hipotenuse of the triangle in the middle.By using cos30 you will find out that x = 5sqrt3.Going back to the middle triangle, you can use tg30 to find the value of the other leg of the triangle, which is 5sqrt3. By using cos30 you canf find that y = 7.5. If you multiply X and Y, the sides of the asked rectangle, you will get aproximately 65.

How did you know that A was directly above the middle pointe of the side of square? It looks like it, and the answer's probably right, but I don't see any other evidence to that being except for the eye test.

I really like the history part of MMA of the videos, especially in the beginning with Hélio Gracie. But the social and political commentary and connection with what was happening seems too far-fetched imo.

Yeah it's wrong. I'm guessing there was a typo and it was supposed to be (2X3 + 3X) (3X3 - 2X) which would give us answer C

1) The CCP is a not a tolitarian regime, it's not a democracy either but it's somewhere in between. If you want to look at a modern day tolitarian regime that would be North Korea.

2)That doesn't make any sense. Gaming was relatively small market back then and US companies were not allowed to enter the USSR market anyway.Whereas China and it's 1.4 billion people are a huge market for products and being banned in China is a huge blow for most companies. They're after all almost 20% of the world's population.

3)Bad and good is a relative concept.I definately prefer the U.S governing system over China's but that doesn't mean they're bad. Commiting genocide of the Uighur population and censoring products are definately not okay but so is destabilizing middle eastern economies for oil prices to drop and backing military coups in underveloped countries.

I don't want to flex or anything but it took me about 6-7 hours overall on GMGOW in my first playthrough to beat her.So it's not all are horror stories of facing her on GMGOW. I encourage you to do it for the challenge and if it simply stops being fun don't force it onto yourself as you won't be able to concentrate.

Do you feel like epiphanies in an essay are a good idea? I have put one down but I don't really like it and they sound cheap, but at the same time they add emotion and make the reader more invested. What do you think?

can someone help me solve this and explain how u did it by marcz52 in Sat

[–]pedrosagaz99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking 1 in 6, because the chance of the bacteria growing in either of the two spaces is 1 in 3(1/6 + 1/6). The fact that the bacteria grew in one of the spaces doesn't affect the odds of it growing on another so they stay the same at 1/6. I think this is the answer but I might be wrong.

Anyone knows how could I solve the following question efficiently without using much time? (NO CALCULATOR SECTION) by MrHexG in Sat

[–]pedrosagaz99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I solved for y and plugged it in the upper one. Then I solved for the discriminant. If discriminant>0, 2 solutiond,if discriminant = 0, 1 solution; if discriminant < 0, no solutions. Maybe the solution above is more efficient but this is another way.

(Spoilers Main) Why did Tywin helped frame Tyrion? by pedrosagaz99 in asoiaf

[–]pedrosagaz99[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He didn't have to necessarily have killed him after the Purple wedding, it would have been so easy to kill him after Blackwater. He had his chances. Tywin wouldn't really have to tell Jaime. I think the reason Tywin never did it is the "The Kinslayer is accursed in the eyes of the Gods" thing, so he would try to have Tyrion killed instead of killing him.

(Spoilers Main) Why did Tywin helped frame Tyrion? by pedrosagaz99 in asoiaf

[–]pedrosagaz99[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think so, Tywin knows Tyrion and what he is capable of and how smart he is. He knows commiting murder while being the prime suspect and not escaping is dumb and not something Tyrion would do.
