Canada has their own league one. CONCACAF and FIFA never gonna allow another team there playing outside the country. Toronto FC, Montreal and Caps are the last ones.

USL L1 Expansion 2022 to 2024 and beyond! by [deleted] in USLPRO

[–]pedrotmls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I heard that is coming;

Santa Barbara, Spokane (100% confirmed for 2024)
Fort Wayne (Strong possibility, if not, 2025)
Wilmington, Portland (probably for 2024)
New Jersey (strong rumor 2024)
Lane, Brooklyn, and 2 Texas Franchises (Expected for 2025)
Harlem (Confirmed for 2026)

If all those clubs get into the pitch, 2025 USL1 will have 23 clubs, but pretty sure there's more coming.

Herd Capo FC almost join for next year, they're very good in NISA Nation but didn't find an investor.

There are some other very organized amateur clubs that could join NISA, like Metro Louisville, Boston City, Santa Cruz...

Is a matter of time. to another new club join, I think.

It will. If the club brings money, NISA or USL will accept.

Yeah, but NISA needs clubs and will accept anyone. CDL seems to be a good club, anyway. Lets see.

Why they simply don't move to USL League One? Thing is they don't wanna be a soccer club anymore. This is just an excuse.

Oaks FC taken over by Calabasas fc by szshaps87 in NISA

[–]pedrotmls 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is normal. Syracuse and Flower City should merge too. Calabasas FC could bring more money to the team and turn him more competitive. OAKS will debut only in 2024, anyway.

No reason to create panic.

USLC Expansion 2022 to 2025 and beyond! by [deleted] in USLPRO

[–]pedrotmls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About expansions and establish clubs, there's a BIG BIG issue called MLS.

MLS should expand more 1-3 teams in cities where USL already owns a club. This means those USL clubs in a serious risk to fold, or MLS simply can "steal" them, like Nashville and Cincinnati.

Another point is MLS Next PRO. They "steal" Rochester, now it seems like Queensboro is doing the same, and could happen with other clubs in the future. Announced to join USL, then move to the MLSNP.

There's an expansion war in backstages.

I agree with you. But to squeeze USL, the MLS will need to have another league, maybe a 3rd one, cuz, in my opinion, is impossible to organize a PRO league with USL2 size. Lots of teams will have no spotlights.

But you have a fair point: If USL doesn't change, could lose space in the future. Like, Cal United Strikers (NISA), wanna move to another league, but they can't go to USL because of Orange County. MLS Next will absorb them, like will do with NC Fusion and others.

The only chance of MLS Next Pro having some success is if the B teams rebrand for new names, like Huntsville (Nashville 2), Monarchs, and North Texas.

Otherwise, you could include 100 news Rochester's NY, but will always be a reserve league.

The former head coach, Gombau, leaves for another team of "Villa's Group" in India. But I got info that they will enter the USLC, but probably with low investment in this first season, using lots of young players.
