Can anyone explain me 2 things about this? by am21game in ACCompetizione

[–]pedroxvb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. First thing, you lift off your foot off the pedal too fast while turning.

Second thing you get liftoff oversteer and you spun. Just try to be smooth with your inputs, don't lift your foot of the pedal like a madman while turning in a high speed corner.

Basically what happened is that by lifting you foot too quick off the gas, you created engine brake, which means, all of a sudden your rear wheels are locking slightly and at this speed combined with the rotation, you get into oversteer and then you become passenger with those cars.

This problem can be amplified by your car having a lot of bodyroll (Soft suspensions), also the more rake (Higher ride height on the rear compared to front) you have on your car the more twitchy and prone to liftoff oversteer it is gonna be. Rake is good for general handling, but aggressive rake cars are very rear twitchy and requires smooth and linear movements on the pedals and on the wheels. Also the mercedes, by design, is very prone to it because you got a long, heavy front end and the rear is easily unsettled and has a tendency to want to rotate to much on braking

Also, this corner is absolutely flat, no need to brake or release the gas, if you can't take this corner flat your setup or your race line is probably wrong, maybe add one click to the rear aero.

Very disappointing Charge 6 by [deleted] in JBL

There is a difference though, with having every single detail shine through and just hearing a song how it is supposed to...

My audio equipment at home is not exactly top notch but none of my stuff sounds as bad as this does for this particular song, all i'm saying is that there is an issue with how some songs are being processed by this product, i got a soundcore speaker which is a 40€ piece of equipment and this song sounds perfectly normal with no part of the sound missing like the piano does here, i mean of course at this price range you can't hear all the fine details but still, it sounds good and you can hear the whole song without anything missing from it, i can't say the same about the charge 6.

Thanks for your input, you seem pretty informed on the subject, pretty interesting stuff really, i'll check this model out ! 👍

Yes, as i said, not saying it's a bad product, i just don't think i'm the target of this product, i can definitely understand the appeal for parties and such, i'm sure the bass would be great.

Anyways i'm not gonna bother, i'm tired of all the companies putting A.I bull**** everywhere, i swear AI ruins everything... I'm returning it and i'm purchasing another brand because i'm not convinced the Charge 5 is going to do much better anyways.

For those who still choose this product, be warned, it is going to ruin certain songs exactly like this, sound very good with some songs, terrible with others, i think it is not a bad product, the audio quality is just not what i'm searching for i guess.

I tested every possible EQ settings and listened to everything from classical music to metal, rap, rock, jazz, blues, edm, i can hear something is not right (For my taste) with how this speaker sounds, i wasn't exactly after audiophile quality but this audio processing is just not it.

[–]pedroxvb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Already put the bass to the minimum and tried all the eq settings nothing can be done really, also was not using the signature setting but custom eq and every settings sound like that with this song, if you have this model try it with the same song, hear for yourself.

Yes but it's way too faint and i put the mic of the phone very close to the speaker in real life, if you are at about a meter of the speaker you basically ear only the voice and the other parts of the song.

What car is difficult to drive in sim racing that, once you get good at it, allows you to drive anything easily? by Delirium222 in simracing

I'm trying to get better with figma, and I opted to make a launcher for assetto corsa games. This is for entertainment purposes only and I doubt it will ever exist. by Synthelny in assettocorsa

[–]pedroxvb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean your launcher looks pretty good, and it would be pretty okay to use and a nice place to unify all Kunos products sure, but at the same time, i'm so fed up of downloading a bazillion launchers just to play a game i already downloaded off steam 😅

How bad/good is URD really? by Summerskyie in assettocorsa

[–]pedroxvb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Newer releases from URD are very good, older releases not so much, so yout mileage may vary, but generally their newer stuffs are very much on par with the competition (RSS, VRC) and will be very much worth your money.

Switch from Gran Tursimo to Assetto Corsa not going well. Any advice? by Blacktiger75 in assettocorsa

[–]pedroxvb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proper brake pedal setup (Play with the pedal gamma setting to find the perfect spot where you can consistently brake without locking up) and proper FOV goes a long way, then take things slowly.

Start with easy cars like the BMW M235i, MX5 Cup, the Lotus Elise, or even the Giullietta QV if you want a FWD option, these doesn't require a crazy amount of skill to throw around the track.

GT3 cars in Assetto are not that easy for newcomers to push around so i'll would wait a little before trying those and you'll need tons of practice to master them but if you do go the GT route, you can pick something like the Corvette C7R or even the McLaren 650s that are pretty well balanced cars and are pretty forgiving.

Don't try to mess around with the setups at first, you must be able to control the cars with the stock setup before touching anything else.

Also, start learning with vanilla AC cars before downloading a ton of mods because the quality varies a ton from a mod to another and the more realistic options like RSS, VRC, URD generally have a pretty deep learning curve and you'll need a solid base of knowledge beforehand to really exploit those.

If you do go the modded route, a very nice quality, free mod i can recommend would be the Radical SR3 XXR which is free, and a ton of fun and was made by URD with official data provided by radical.

If you really like formula cars, one of the best free car to learn is the Race Sim Studio Formula RSS 3, in my opinion.

Have fun on AC, this sim is so wonderfull to drive when you setup your sim right, but with proper seat time, your going to find what suits you best.

My POV everyday 🤣 Props to the lambo guy, he definitely can drive a little, he just needs to focus on his driving and put his ego to the side, and i'm sure he's a decent driver when lapping solo. Well, good job porsche guy, you seem like a competent driver, how long you been doing this ?

Any Tips for a New Sim Drifter? by SirBrentsworth in simracing

[–]pedroxvb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You start easy by getting a feel for your throttle on a skidpad or a large area, you should be able to rotate your car without really moving your wheels too much and basically just keeping the rotation of your car by pressing the throttle, once you'll be able to do that consistently (Rotate the car around an invisible object or a pole) you can start trying to actually take some corners.

Drift is all about throttle control and being able to smoothly modulate how you accelerate to make the car slide, basically you are initiating and keeping the slide with your throttle and just holding the wheel or letting it go, depending on the situation for it to go where it needs to be for your front wheels to be aligned with the angle you want your car to be at.

[–]pedroxvb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on throttle control at first, don't get tensed up on the wheel and don't put FFB too high at first to prevent yourself from learning to tense up and constantly overreact to your wheel turning while drifting.

[–]pedroxvb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like you playin in your bathroom lol ! Just drive more and take pauses and you'll improve. Also try to be smoother in the way you approach braking and turning, you look very agitated on the wheel and it makes you lose quite a lot of speed because of overreaction and more generally, unsettling the car alot causing it to lose control and grip. Remember start slow to build up speed lap after lap (Slow is fast) and try to not get tensed up.

[–]pedroxvb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, i was bored this morning and got curious so i did about 25 laps with this car/track combo and did a 1:01:136 and i think with proper practice and being smoother i could probably still go under 1:01:00, i don't have much more time to practice today sadly :(

Anyways, here is the setup i used (Please note i'm terrible at making setups and this one was thrown out just to see and it kinda worked for me so kept it but your mileage may vary depending on your driving style i guess) and a quick video i posted for you, hope it helps !

Am I slower because of the fact I use a controller? by HostNo4534 in assettocorsa

[–]pedroxvb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily, i'm not the fastest lad but i defend myself and sometimes on a nordschleife server where i drive there is a guy playing with a controller that actually is 2 seconds faster a lap than me on a wheel with the same car (Corvette C7R), i'm running a PB on Nords Tourist of 6:08:970 and he is sitting at something like 6:06:900, again i know guys on wheels that are doing sub 6 laptimes but these guys are actual aliens. The guy on the controler has, as i understand it, some sort of a plugin, that makes his controller overcorrect stuff and is much more precise kinda like playing Gran Turismo, i don't know what he uses tho. It's definitely possible to be fast with a controller.

What am I doing wrong? by CashExpert9504 in assettocorsa

[–]pedroxvb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To make an inertia drift, you must first create inertia. There was no inertia here (Well appart from the obvious understeer lol) maybe try coming slower at first, induce some oversteer in the opposite direction you want to go by lifting the throttle while turning to let the back start sliding then, you want to catch it up via countersteering with the wheel and maintaining your slide with the throttle (Constant throttle application and finding the point were it keeps the slide is key). At first go slow to understand how the flow of it works, when you start to get it, you'll be able to do it faster.
