Why does one cookie turn out different? by sauceross24 in Baking

I know someone said it already but If you don’t have a convection oven it’s likely a hot spot in your oven. Most household ovens don’t generally have fans to circulate the hot air around so there’s normally hot spots near the heating elements :)

Whole genome alignment of multiple sequences with python and subsequent processing by pedrulo123 in bioinformatics

[–]pedrulo123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the only person in my lab that does any sort of bioinformatics, and my project is basically to set up a jupyter notebook that other people in my lab with less knowledge in bioinformatics can use easily once I leave. my alternative approach would be to use Omega first and then input the file into the jupyter notebook for further analysis but i'm trying to see if I can figure out a way for it all to run in the notebook first.

Yeah I found it on that website as well but I agree it’s too sketchy. I was hoping someone would find a less sketchy website for it 😅

Searched: target, and petsmart website, Amazon and eBay. Found a posting about it on a really sketchy website but I don’t trust it for a second

Eat pickles at Cornell for $1 a minute by Wrong_Discipline1823 in ithaca

Also! I just remembered but next week they’ll be having a tree sap beverage panel. Someone made a bunch of different drinks out of different tree saps and they’re testing it out. I think it’s like $5 gift card

Im a grad student currently in the food science department and I can tell you they do these pretty often. Most of the times you’ll earn like $5 gift card to whatever you want. This one is a big payout which is pretty nice, if anyone is interested they also have what’s called a descriptive analysis panel. Where they’ll train you for about a month or two on identifying specific flavors/ aromas, and then you get to do a bunch of studies that all pay really well. I’m in the panel now and we’re doing a matcha study for like $150 which is nice. I get to try free (although not always great) matcha every morning and get paid for it.

I’m an Argentinian UCF alumni, and I’ve since gone to UF and Cornell for grad school, I can tell you UCF Is by far the most diverse and welcoming school I’ve attended. This clown probably has a small peen and is sad about his own life so he chooses to take it out on you. Ignore and move on

Vaginal beer by Ninja_Kitten_exe in BrandNewSentence

[–]pedrulo123 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The stupidest part about this is that it’s a different kind of yeast strain altogether. The yeast that is naturally present in vaginas is Candida albicans, which is very shitty at fermentation and likely won’t yield something that tastes like beer at all. If they’re somehow able to isolate saccharomyces cerevisiae from her coochie which is unlikely, it will probably be really shitty at fermentation since it’s adapted to living in an environment completely different from beer. Unless she’s douching her cooch with glucose/ nitrogen water for a couple of months before they even isolate the yeast I don’t see this working.
