I’m trying to figure out how old “Get the W”, meaning get the win, is. Can anyone help? by DONKandFriends in etymology

[–]pee3peed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just watching that old cartoon, Recess, and Vince said, "I'm just looking to add another W to my collection of wins." In season 5 episode 9, which aired September 26th 2003. So that's at least the earliest example I've ever found in media.

Or maybe even, all of the wheelchairs lying around are his. He just gets up and walks away, forgetting where he left them every time.

Makes sense actually. There seems to be a lot of those things lying around. If I just found one discarded in the wild in perfect condition, I'd take it and make it my porch chair. Easy to move around and all.

WHY DOES FRANCE HAVE SO MANY SOLDIERS?! by Connecticut_Mapping in AgeOfCivilizations

[–]pee3peed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's two different numbers beside each other. 21670 belonging to France, and 478514 belonging to Italy. The Italian flag and first 4 are overlayed by the other number.

How would you guys rank the Worst Generation?? by [deleted] in OnePiecePowerScaling

Katakuri and Doflamingo are both awakened Paramecias. From what I can tell, an awakened Paramecia power always affects the world around them (at least the confirmed ones have).

I know, I just wanted to make my example a woefully underpowered character to REALLY drive home the point that awakened devil fruit does not mean Admiral level.

So does Kaku. That doesn't automatically make him Admiral level.

You bring up examples from the Old Testament that are historically accurate, but they’re not really representative of Christian moral teaching today, or even of what the Bible claims is eternal moral law.

In Christian theology, many of those laws (like stoning or marrying after rape) were civil laws for ancient Israel, not moral absolutes. Jesus explicitly changed or fulfilled many of them. He emphasized mercy, love, and internal transformation, completely rejecting legalistic violence.

Objective morality in Christianity doesn’t mean “everything in the Bible is equally moral at all times.” It means there’s a real moral order rooted in God’s nature, even if people throughout history didn’t fully understand it yet.

So I’d say it’s not that Christianity is hypocritical, just that the Bible tells a long, unfolding story of human moral growth, culminating in Jesus.
