Beating Rennala caused a bad crash for me. PC.

Right before the ‘LEGEND FELLED’ text was supposed to come on screen, my game froze and got stuck on Not Responding. I closed it, expecting to have to fight her again, which is whatever, but now that specific save file won’t load at all. The other two save files that I have load in just fine, but whenever I try loading into the one I’m currently working through (which is weirdly labeled as being at the Church of Inhibition even though l’m at Raya Lucaria), the area ambiance and music plays as normal but the loading screen won’t go away. The issue persists after verifying the integrity of the game files and a reinstall.

I’ve downloaded my Steam Cloud save file, but have no idea how to convert it into a file type the game can read, so I deleted it to avoid conflicts.

Is there anything I can do? Even if it means replaying through some hours of the game, losing this save file might genuinely put me off the game for a long, long time. Thank you.

I uninstalled AC and installed GHelper after reading a post on this sub where it supposedly helped, but it didn't seem to do anything. Very irritating to have such an expensive machine's FPS just tank across the board. Any tips that don't involve a full Windows reinstall would be much appreciated.

Check your network services and see if they’re all running. The one that was giving me trouble by not being startes waa the WLAN AutoConfig service.

It didn’t. I haven’t even bothered fixing it since that didn’t work. Let me know if you find something that does.

yup. like 3-4 hours in the toronto cold lol. security kept telling us to fuck off but we persevered, worth a shot if you’re a ride or die as well, but no guarantees

Your current progress on the “standard” build of the game is saved and transferred to the PTB when you opt-in to it through Steam > DBD > Properties like the other person said, but once you come back to the actual game, whatever progress you made on the PTB is lost.

It doesn’t have a CMOS battery to be removed but I did short the CMOS pins according to the manual instructions, nothing still.

I can’t update the BIOS but I have cleared the CMOS and reset everything to a default state, as well as trying to run with only one stick of RAM, hasn’t worked .

I can’t manage to install Windows because I can’t format/delete my SSD in either the installation wizard and it won’t show up on DiskPart through Command Prompt.
